Let’s hear it for Minnesota Spirit!!!

Ely, Minnesota is home to Ely Bloomenson Community Hospital.  Nestled in the northwoods, Ely Bloomenson serves Ely, surrounding communities and 125,000 annual visitors.

Our hospital is in the running to win a Siemen’s $1.5 M MRI system.  The contest required small hospitals to submit  a 2 minute video.  The winner is determined strictly by the greatest number of video votes.  You heard it right!  Votes, votes and more votes for the video will get us a $1.5 M MRI.  Otherwise, a 100 mile journey is needed for an MRI procedure.

Let’s show the nation what Minnesotans are all about.  There are over 90 hospital entrants and Ely is currently 4th place in the nation.  This is a very small request to be rewarded with BIG results.

Lee, you are fantastic!  I just voted for today and was thinking the same thing... spread the word AGAIN for people to help Ely win this MRI.

Now everyone... remember to vote everyday.  And pass the word along to get others to help Ely.

so if they already have a mobile one what about other town it could server better?  also   nowhere  on the site does  it say that it is worth $1.5m   it a a 1.5t mri    (it a model number not a price)  i'm  not saying it not a great deal  but its misleading to say "drive 100 miles for a mri"whathttp://www.medical.siemens.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay~q_catalogId~e_-1~a_catTree~e_100010,1007660,12754,14330~a_langId~e_-1~a_productId~e_181441~a_storeId~e_10001.htm

mopho, it's a mobile unit that comes periodicly.
that means it's not there all the time. if you have an accident and need an mri, if it's not there you have to drive a hunnert miles to get one.
if they had their own mri machine in house, they wouldn't have to have the mobile unit come there anymore, thus freeing it up to be at other locations longer or more often.

do you know of another facitlty that needs one more than they do?
if so, lets hear your sales pitch for them. maybe we can vote for them?

sounded like  from what i read  and on the video  that  they have a "mobile" mri truck  there all the time. there is  a few places down here have  them  permanently parked outside..  and don't get  me  wrong  ely would probably be a good place for it with the bwcawcawcawacwa  and all ..

just to clarify  the site does say 1.5m Siemens  mri i think they mean the model 1.5t( i'm trying to find a price)

that truck is on the move all the time.
it comes through deer river periodicly as well.
I had to go move my van when my wife went to the emergency room last week, so the truck could back in place.

Since I was born and raised in Chicago I'll always remember the cities motto.       "Vote early and vote often."  Well, now we all have a chance to vote early and often. Ely Minnesota needs YOU to vote often and we are ALL allowed one vote per day.

It only takes two clicks on your computer each day to boost Ely's vote totals towards the top. So far so good and thanks to all that have voted so far. Let's see how many others are willing to step up for a good cause.

Good Job Lee.  I've been clicking daily since the site was put up.  Keep on clicking everyone.

My Mom still lives in Ely and if anything happened to her while the mobile unit is elsewhere, she would have to drive to Duluth.  And yes, it is 100 miles away.

Plus when the mobile unit is there, they are walking old folks out into -20 weather to get inside the unit.
My initial response was to sue her for defamation of character, but then I realized that I had no character.

Is this for real?  It sounds like an email that I've received in the past that states if you send the email on and you will become a millionaire.  Are the "givers" of this machine truly basing the city that gets this based on votes and not population/need?  Either way I did vote.  It just sounds fishy.
