Ice conditions in the Ely area are poor to fair thanks to the 12 inches of snow we received about 10 days ago.

At that time, most of the lakes had about 4 inches of ice, and Burntside had just skimmed over the day of the 1 foot snowfall.

The sub zero temps we've had have been slowly freezing the slush that came up, and hopefully the next ice report in a few weeks will be better.

Talk to you then, have a Merry Christmas!

great outdoors, thanks for the honest report.
not to good for buisness, but it's better to have a couple more lean weeks than have anybody end their ice fishing career forever.
lets all be careful out there!
take a kid hunting and fishing!!
