The ice conditions as of 12/13/07 are at 7 inches and as little as 6 inches, as of this morning. The ice is going on pretty slow with all of the snow, but it is building everyday. We do have a lot of snow out on the lake, with that weight; the cracks are starting to show themselves. I have a bleeder crack out about 70 yards from shore. There is some slush on either side. Hopefully it will heal up and the slush can freeze down. Nothing to worry about, but it is pretty sloppy around that small crack. It is only open about a half an inch, just enough to bleed water out of it. Bring up your sleds and it will be much easier to get around.

4 wheelers will work if you have some chains. If not, it will be a little more work to get around until there is a trail broken. There have been a few die hard fishermen out in front this week. From what they have said, there are some nice perch and a few walleyes being caught in 16 to 22 ft of water out in front in the morning and again towards the evening. That is it for now. I will have a more detailed report after the weekend when I get a chance to fish myself. Once again, we will be opening the Bar & Grill for the 07/08 winter ice fishing season, this Friday. We should have houses out by next weekend.

Be safe, and we will see you this weekend.
