Lake Kegonsa
Perch fisherman on Lake Kegonsa has been having some success. Ice conditions over deep water are in the 5”-7” range. There have been several people using four-wheelers on the ice. There have been little reports of bluegill action on Kegonsa.

Lake Wabesua
Lake Wabesua bluegill action has been picking up. Bluegills and perch have been reported in 5”-7” of water out from Lake Farm Park, Goodland Park, and to the South of the Green Lantern Resturant. There have been some reports of perch fishing in deeper water over near Bible Camp, however fishing has been slow. The occasional Northern on Tip-Ups with large shiners have been reported off of Lake Farm and Goodland Park.

Mud Lake
Mud Lake has been receiving some pressure from bluegill fisherman. There have been rumors of fish caught , however we have no confirmation at this time.

Lake Monona
Lake Monona, on the Monona Bay and Triangle area, has been receiving a lot of attention from bluegill fisherman. However, they have been sorting a lot of small fish between keepers.

Lake Mendota
Ice coverage on Lake Mendota continues to increase, with the Bay Area being the only safe places at this time. Northern Pike have been biting in Warner Bay near the Beach House. Bluegills and crappies have been biting sporatically in Mendota County and Marshall Park. University Bay has also been producing some decent action from bluegills.

Cherokee Marsh
Cherokee Marsh continues to produce fair numbers of bluegills and crappies. With ice up to 9” in depth, the conditions are rather stable for fishing.

"1/9/08 Fishing Report"

They are still fishing on Cherokee, catching Crappies in the 8-10" range, using purple plastics or small spoons like a #2 Swedish Pimple. They are also still on Monona Bay catching Bluegills and Crappies, with sorting needed. University Bay on Lake Mendota is still producing some nice Bluegills and a few Northerns. The shorelines there have been getting a bit wet, but so far still holding up. We did have good Perch reports last Saturday & Sunday when the fog and rain were here. They did good at Commodore, 4 Doors, and Gov. Island in 65-72' of water, using spikes and Rat Finkies. Ice out there now is questionable, with guys waiting for it to get better again. Lake Farm Park on Lake Waubesa has been producing some decent catches of Bluegills, with a few Perch and Crappies mixed in. They are fishing Goodland Park and Green Lantern also. Reports are that they still are fishing there, with no reports of ice conditions. We are looking forward to having cold weather and the ice to seal up good and have a good rest of the ice fishing season!!
