Hi guys im Cody and i will be giving a fishing report from the west metro. In the chanhassen eden praire area. If you have any questions about any other lakes around this area send me a message and ill do my best to answer them.

Lake Susan- There is a decent number of good sized fish in this lake. I caught my limit of crappies on crappie minnows with plain hook in about 14 FOW. They were suspended about 3 feet off the bottom. The crappie size ranged from most of them being 8 to 10 inches long our biggest was 12 inches. Also did sime panfishing and caught lots of little sunfish sizes between 5 and 7 inches, on chunks of waxworms, in aboput 12 FOW.  We also tried our luck for the walleyes. We were lucky enough to catch 3 good sized fish in the deepest hole in the lake. We drilled about 13 different holes to find the right spot and found some on the camera. They were not very picky at all as soon as the minnow got any were near the fish they didn’t hesitate and took the minnow. Also seen a good sized pike 32+ inches. We had a tip up in about 12 FOW with a sucker minnow on the edge of the weeds but had no strikes.

Lake Riley- this lake is a tough lake to fish if you don’t have any knowledge of the lake a vex or a underwater camera. There is limited cover. Although the fish in this lake are plentiful with northerns and crappies if you can locate the fish. We had a tough time finding the walleyes in this lake. We only pulled one threw the hole and that was in a 17 foot hole. It was a decent sized walleye it was 21 inchs. We also seen some more on the camera but couldn’t get them to take the bait. We were using a red hook with a smaller fathead minnow. We also got into some Crappies most of them ranging from 7 to 10 inchs, in about 15 FOW. With a bright yellow hook with a crappie minnow. We also set-up a tip in 9 FOW with a smaller  sucker minnow and pulled two smaller pike threw the ice. They were 16 inchs and 22 inchs. That was all the action we had with the tip-up.

Lotus Lake- this is a great lake if you are taking a group of kids out fishing or jus t taking a new comer to the sport. But this lake is filled with small walleyes, crappie and perch. Most of your action will be crappies amd perch. Small but they provide you with action through out the day. We were taking crappie in about 9 FOW with crappie minnows. We also target walleyes on this lake. If you can find the points were the water depth drops down a foot or two. Most likey you will find a group of walleyes suspended there. We caught 6 walleyes only one was keep able. It was 16 inchs. We caught that one on a swedish pimple tipped with a fathead minnow.
