Someone awhile back suggested to thrash the tatter plants with a rake. The general did it and I am wondering when to do it? How much thrashing?
 Just the procedure.

Glenn told me to do that dew, the potatoes go into whats called kotesias revertum, and vrow large and juicy. The less plant avaiable to sunlight the less photosynthesis  that draws from the potatoe.  Glenn ut a pimple on my a$$. :rotflmao:

I was talking to a potato farmer that farms for the RDO plant in Park Rapids, he told me the plant won’t take them if they get to big. That probably why you don’t see them doing that. Maybe the potatoes don’t taste as good when they get big?

I don't knock the plants down here, I just keep burying them. If they start to flower, I cut the flowers off. That way the energy goes to making potatoes and not flowers.

About a week after they start flowering......start using your fingers to look for baby potatoes.....the best and most expensive in the store.

Not that much kinda like a mild hail storm hit em..  this from from a old red river valley tater farmer quote..  u don't want em just bigplants.  Do it about the time they are blooming.  Mine aren't blooming yet but I bet in another week or two.  If no hail I'll take the rake out..
