Tough to score without seeing the browe tines or the width of the rack but if I had to guess I would call him 3 1/2 years with a score of maybe 115

3 1/2 and 115-120 I think.

I'm about right there with you on that one Pat.

That's a pretty big body on him. Legs to me look short and the stomach already has a sag on it. Brisket is saggy and shoulders look really defined so I'm gonna say 3 1/2 possibly 4 1/2 but it's tough from this angle because you can't see the back sag much. The rack looks small because the body is so big. So I'd say 130. It's a shooter for sure in my opinion.
Let the small bucks walk. Don't assume the neighbors will shoot them if you don't. If you shoot him what chance does that buck have to grow......ZERO!

Hopefully he'll walk under the stand during hunting hours, so far he's only moving at night.  Thanks to everyone for your opinions, I am not too good at aging/scoring yet.  All I know is that he's a shooter in my book!

3 1/2  not over 120  a bit short on mass

Could you tell us more about this deer.

What part of the state?
Public or private land?
If private how much land
Food plots?

With this knowledge, I would like to see people’s opinion on whether or not they would shoot him or give him another year. There is no wrong answer here just wondering.

I hunt on many different lands and on most of them I would most likely shoot him .But on the land I am trying to manage I think I would let him go.
Are you a hunter or do you just kill things? Respect the wildlife!

I'd guess him to be 3.5 years old and around the low to mid 130's.  If I had not taken any deer yet and the season was winding down, I would most likely take him.  If on the other hand, I had already taken a buck, (party hunting) I would probably let him go.  I know this because that's exactly what happend last year.  I killed a nice 8 point on the first weekend of rifle season.  On the last Saturday I watched a big guy (probably a little bigger than the one in the pic) chase a doe across a swamp and into the island I was on.  Had a shot but let it go for a couple reasons. I was still bow hunting and planned to muzzle hunt later.  Also, my son was not to far away and he had not shot a buck yet so I though he may get a crack at this one.
P.S. As far as I know nobody took this one so I hope he's still around.

This deer is probably 3 1/2 and on the low 130's, like most people have said. This deer does have a big body, but his rack does not look proportional to it.  Looking at this picture, I probably would not shoot him.  However, I have seen many bucks that look smaller on trail cams but when they are on the hoof or dead they are much bigger.  A for instance is last year when my buddy's dad had a nice 10 point on a trail cam, we all guessed it to be in the mid 130's.  But when he shot him during the rut it ended up scoring in the low 150's.  Needless to say he was pleasantly surprised.  Some people would let it go in the early season and then shoot him later in the year. I don't understand why people do this.  If you want to grow bigger bucks the ones that are passed on early need to be let go the entire year.  If it is meat people need then does are a lot better tasting.  That's our philosophy.  If we make the decision not to shoot him the first time we see him(assuming he presents a shot and you get a good look at him) he is off limits until next year.  We are definitely seeing the benefits of this!

4 and a half, maybe 130-135. not to much mass, but the body on him is impressive. if he is 4 and half and he is sporting that rack i would take him, but thats just me

3 1/2 years old. Might make 120. Poor tine length not one over 7.5 inches. light on the mass and width.

I'd say hes 4.5 years for sure....not sure on the score....you can tell he's an older deer by the way the skin sags of his shoulders there....not much mass in the rack so it probably wouldn't score too high....Not saying I wouldn't shoot him though :)

I agree with Auggie. it would be pushing it to get it to make 120. Ive got a 8 point with 11 1/2" g2's and it only goes 138. he would be hard to pass up though. If its on public land I would take him.
