what the hell is wrong with someone to do that? wonder if they used to torcher kittens when they were kids? and the punishment will probably be a small fine and a hug therapy from a liberal judge

I think this is just WRONG!

Maybe they should be put out in a field and get chased down by a sled..............

All I could do is shake my head when I read that, It pisses me off!

Reading that gets me frustrated. I can not fathom how somebody could take enjoyment from that... I have no patience for people like that. I hope when they find them they exploit them!

Last year we had snowmobilers riding through my front yard, doing donuts, and coming up to the house with in 20ft of the front of the house running over trees, driving through my fields and through the swamps, on my property, and with in 30ft of the walkout door on the northside of my house. Now what you need to know is that my house is set off the road over 200ft and they were litteraly riding in my yard, and running over my trees that had been planted. So I made it my personal vendeta to chase them down and report them to the law, many idiots were driving while intoxicated, and recieved violations for property damage, DUI, leaving the trail, and tresspassing, just to name some of the violations handed out. People get on the machine and think that they have some kind of right to drive were ever they dang well please because they own a machine, they think that they are above the law, and beyond reproach, while operating a snowmobile. I did at one point chase down a group of them for about ten miles before the law finally caught with me and stopped them, he confiscated thier machines on the spot, and they had to get mommy and daddy to come and get them and explain why to them in front of the officer and me.

This year I fixed them!!!!!!! I put up a half mile of fence along the top edge of the ditch, and plowed the driveway approach in such a manner as to make it impossible to get up and over, hence severally slowing them down!!!!! Last weekend two of the little punks thought thier snowmobiles could fly like superman and get over anything in a single bound. Well I ended up picking pieces of thier machines off the driveway as they were too busy freaking out when they saw me coming to see what had happened they flipped thier sleds upright, started them up and split, they did not leave very fast as they had some pretty good damage to thier machines. One bent up the ski and A-arm on the culvert and the other one flipped his upside down right in the middle of the driveway, it took three of them too get it upright again, needless to say I went back and plowed the driveway approach even higher and shut again, no one has been back to try thier luck again, I am sure some idiot will though. I do not understand why they act the way they do when they get on thier machines. It is like they took stupid pills before leaving home.

I have very similar experiences with snowmobilers in my town, as JD MN/ND.  They have no respect for peoples property or the law.

I own a large lot on the edge of town.  Many days it's not even safe to be in your front yard, snowmobilers (at least the ones in my town) have no respect for peoples property.  They constantly drive through peoples yards (not the edge of the street, actually THROUGH peoples yards, around houses, etc...), run over peoples landscaping, trees, and even fences!  The go through your yard even when your out there!

There is a trail system donated by private property owners that live outside the town (visable from my house/yard).  The signs that are posted clearly state that it's private property, but as long as snowmobiles stay on the trail it is permitted.  You still see the sleds all over the fields and yards of the private properties!  And it's not just the young kids, I see plenty of adults doing it everyday as well.

My friends and neighbors have had tons of property damage to their yards and houses from the snowmobiles.  I finally put a landscape wall in my front yard, about two feet tall of solid brick.  They seem to stay out of my yard now, but now they bother the people across the street from me twice as much.

What's there to e sory about?  These people are obviously stupid and don't care about anything, as long as they get their rocks off.  Regardless of if they were drunk or not, there's no excuse.  I wish Wisconsin had poaching fines like Texas: The bigger the deer, the bigger the penalty.  I will hav to look up the formula that texas uses to come up with thier fines, buti t's hefty.

I am assuming you are talking about rack size when you say bigger.

Of course they charge more, those are deer bought and paid for from midwestern farms!  :rotflmao: Right Auggie!

I would say take the machines and fine them each $5000.00 per deer.

I have two neighbors who have snowmobiles, both in their 40s.  I had to put up a fence on my property because of one of them, who thinks the whole neighborhood and its parks were made for his personal enjoyment.

The other is very responsible, never snowmobiles in the neighborhood, always trailers it up to go to the trail.

This has now happened with a snowmobiler killing 57 ducks in the Green Bay area.  I posted the article in a new thread.

I don't know but if  A-holes keep doing these kinds of things they are going to ruin snowmobiling for all of us "normal" people.

sjohnnie26-

I wouldn't consider those people to be "snowmobilers."  But they do cast a bad light on all of us.

THEY GOT CAUGHT!!!!!!!   Here's the article for you.

Three Weyauwega men jailed in connection with Waupaca County snowmobile deer slaughter

Gannett Wisconsin Media • January 15, 2009

Three Waupaca County men have been arrested in connection with the killing of deer last weekend near Waupaca.

The men were booked in the Waupaca County Jail on Wednesday afternoon. They are:

Robby Kuenzi, 23, E5548 North Shore Road, Weyauwega;
Rory Kuenzi, 24, 410 Harlon Street, Weyauwega;
Nicholas Hermes, 22, 215 W. Alfred Street, Weyauwega.

Each is being held on a felony charge of mistreatment of animals. Hermes will make his initial appearance today in Waupaca County Circuit Court.

The deer were found dead Saturday, apparently run down by a group of snowmobilers who herded the animals from an alfalfa field five miles south of Waupaca where a herd of 30 to 40 deer are known to feed.

The slaughter has sparked outrage from snowmobilers, hunters and animal lovers, and rewards totaling more than $10,000 have been offered for information leading to the suspects or their convictions.

I saw the pictures.  When they in he guy, theyshould fine him like they fined a guy from Wyoming that illegally shot 11 rabbits:  a base fine plus $200 per animal.  That would be $11,400 fine just for restitution.
