Here is what all the logged off land sill look like for the next several years.

Depends on what kinds of trees where cut and the soil there. But that would be nice.  :happy1:

Yes I saw this before when we ran a dozer through some trails.  For a number of years it look much like dakids picture. Here are some pictures I took last Sunday. Most are from a three existing deer stands that will be greatly impacted by the logging.

It's been a few months since I posted an update to the logging. I took these yesterday. The aspen regen is coming along nicely.  The new aspen shoots are around waist high with some a bit higher.  This fall I will have to tackle clearing areas that I do not want them to grow in.  I will have a couple years to manage this before they get to thick and big to handle with the brush mower. Deer flies are to aggressive right now to do much of anything in the woods.

Way cool Leech! I could watch them play with toys like those for hours.  :happy1:

Wow, if only I had an extra half million $ to pickup so toys like these.  Of course you need to be careful or ALL your trees would be gone. It's amazing they let the guys with phones take pictures right next to the guy crushing rocks.

I love watching that kind of stuff.  I watched lots of wood splitter things on Youtube before I made mine.  I still watch wood splitter videos.  LOL  Some people are pretty clever making things.

Two years ago the guy I hired to clear an area for a road used a similar machine on a smaller scale.  They had a a 6" mulching head on the skid steer.  You may remember but here's some photos from two years ago.

Before: This is the corner of the field where we started. The original trail was little more than a wheeler trail

Just starting and hard to envision what the heck he's doing

In progress: starting to make sense

Finished trail

Yesterday I took a short walk through some of the area we had logged last winter.  The aspen regen is mostly chin high with lots of shoots extending over my head.  That puts them around 6 feet.  Not bad for just starting this spring.

Wow.  They get tall fast. It should be a popular spot this fall and winter

A "popular" spot. I see what you did there.  Forester would get mad and correct it to "aspen".   :rotflmao:
It will be interesting for sure.  Maybe you can setup a chair in the middle of them.

dakids and I spent a day at the land yesterday.  Great time checking things out and we did get a little work done as well.  Here's a couple pictures of the aspen regen from the logging this past winter.  I say the average shoots are over 5 feet and lots of them taller than I can reach.  Wouldn't put it past some being over 9 feet tall.

Very easy to get lost in the regen.

I'm pretty sure most pro basketball players would have a hard time reaching the top without jumping.

At first I thought this was a lightning strike but dakids pointed out teeth and claw marks.  Big bear

I have seen lots of logging cuts and watched regrow during all my years in the woods.

I have never seen regrowth that aggressive.

You must have some good dirt.

And those trophy bucks are going to have a bedroom to hide in for years to come.

Nice job.

I planned to use my pull behind brush cutter yesterday to open some of our old trails through the areas that were cut. We had marked the trails with flagging tape however aggressive growth made it difficult to find.  Thankfully I did not have the mower behind and only went with the wheeler.  Also Fridays wind storm knocked over a lot of dead trees as well as some weakened live ones. Being my brother in law cleared a lot of trails last week I thought it would be a piece of cake but I was wrong.  I was exhausted after 7 hours of chain saw work and throwing cut logs off trails. Crappy part was a lot of these were clear a couple days ago.   :angry2:
