After discussing this with Russ in a pm today, he informed me that this was a bring your own "meat" fest.

I was planning on bringing enough burgers for everyone at my expense, but have been asked to do otherwise.

So now I will take orders on burgers/steaks/hot dogs. my brother is the foreman at a meat plant in Minneapolis and gives me an excellent discount on everything, this is the freshest meat available. I will have prices on these items as soon as he returns my call.

If you would like to place an order for burgers, Rib eye steaks or hot dogs, please let me know and i'll deliver these to the fest.

thats one heck of an offer Pat- we will put in our order soon for hambuger soon, do we pay now or later- Talked to Jigglestick this morning as I was leaving this morning to  Brainerd talking about the to do list-- we will be posting info soon for items we need help with, one is rental toilet- anyone that can help us out -let me know, - we mowed (me and Beaver) the surrounding shed area and inside, set up a couple couches, chairs, tables, nothing grand, but it looks like a camp site now inside and out- we will be looking for grills, gas or charcoal to help out, man we have plenty of dried fire wood for camp fires but no chain saws to block it, we have a tractor and loader to haul it within- 5 minutes from shed- were working on a list and hoping for suggestions on anything- yak more tomorrow

Russ,

So far I'm thinking everyone can pay for the meat orders at the fest, the burgers and hot dogs are relatively cheap, the rib eye steaks are a little more expensive but still well below grocery store prices. As long as its affordable to me, i'll cover the costs up front.

I will also be bringing my now famous $5 grill. ;D I bought this grill at a garage sale last fall for $5 and it came with a 20# tank, basically a brand new grill, I used it for the first time last weekend and it worked great.

I have 2 tables if you need them, these are the nice school lunch tables about 8 feet long each. I might need help bringing them up though, depends if they will fit in the Suburban with the rest of the stuff.

I can bring a new set of horseshoes and a new Bocce ball set too.

Will bring a few lawn chairs. propane grill and some roasting sticks for the kids.

Russ,
I can come up any time on Friday the 21st, so I can help with any last minute chores (Horseshoe pits, setting and hauling tables, etc...)

Posted: Wed 05.Jul, 2006    Post subject: its getting ready IBOT fest site

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Judy, Beaver and I have it almost set up, we hung dart boards, brought in sand for the horse shoe turney event, hung more lights, set up tables, brought in goodies for a silent auction, such items will be in it-
2- lp-propane apartment gas stoves- rattle reels, hard bow case, quiver and arrows with broadheads, aluim--, 2 small hide a bed couches- small 110 hot water heater,-- 2- outboard motors-boat seats- life preservers-- freezer--2-mircowaves----bed frames and mattresses--
Right now we have enough tables and seating room for 50 people - we only have about 14 folding chairs set up so we do need help with folding chairs and card tables unless people are comfortable sitting in their lawn chairs eating. We have a fire ring set up and a freezer and huge tub to store ice in so if you can bring an extra bag of ice it would be greatly appreciated. We're hoping to store foods that need to be kept cool in the big tub on ice. We have a target range set up for BB guns.

Food items suggested: pickles, onions, relish, catsup, mustard, buns, salt & pepper, salads, desserts, fruits, veggies & dip, chips & dip, milk, snacks of any kind.

There will be a set time for clay pigeon shooting and then all guns will be put away before consuming alcohol. We will keep you posted with the time frame and the FEAST time so most can be there on Saturday.

Mom (83 years old) is out there each day helping with whatever she can and she can outdo me with her energy and ideas. Mom is very excited to help host this fest and looking forward to meeting all the people that can be there.

Only 17 days to go so we have to pull it together and we need headcounts
as soon as possible.

Any questions, just yell. email or phone
Looking forward to seeing all at the fest.

Just remember - if you catch a baby kitty, it goes home with you

Russ & Judy -   Thanks for everything you guys are doing to pull this off.  It will indeed be a grand event!!

My company is taking it Sales Reps out on a launch from Garrison Sports from 2:00 - 6:00 that day.  I'm going to plan on coming out around noon for a while.  Then, if I don't consume too many Schmidities out on the boat, get back over there after.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting many more new friends.
My initial response was to sue her for defamation of character, but then I realized that I had no character.

Well, before I go out and launch a few 4th of july fire works, I just want to say that I hope everyone had a great fourth of july weekend and every one made it home safely.
Now maybe we can focus on this Barbeque that Russ Judy The Beaver and Mr.s Raddatz are busting their asses to host.
Russ, Judy, Beaver and Mrs. Raddatz, my hat is off to you all  :)
my obligatory weekend duties are now done until BOT FEST. I will be pulling the porta-potty down next weekend. I think I should be able to come down saturday morning. I am hopeful to spend the night, but that depends how white lightning treats me this week.(the weekend repair list).

If there is anything you think I should bring down with me let me know.

there are some things we will think of as we go, so as you think of them, and this goes for all of you, write them down so's you can remember to post them here.

I have a member working on banners, and road signs so people can find there way with ease.

I will be going through the list and seeing if there is anything I can provide that way.
I suggest every body refer to the list a couple times a week to see if new items pop up.
this will also help to keep the items you are going to be responsible for bringing, fresh in your minds so we don't forget something important.

as you find an item on the list you can account for, post your name as to wanting to take care of that item.
then we will know it's covered, or...whom to tar and feather if it is forgotten :D

Russ, I saw Bows and arrows on the list. does anyone have those old fiberglass bows in the 20-30 lb range?
a few of those would be a hoot for the kids to shoot if we watched them and had a few bails set up.
I can bring a few coumpound bows but i am a little short on arrows.
we need a clay thrower.
coolers,
drinks for the kids, sodas, juices etc.
just a few things off the top of my head.
most of you can expect calls from me, but it would help for you all to try to contact me when it is convenient for you.
I will be on a fairly long haul, giving me plenty of time to yak on the phone as needed.
thank you all, and lets get this thing rolling.
take a kid hunting and fishing!!

THWACK KILLS!!

kid things- lady things- no one gets left outjust couldnt get past the kids isle- so I stopped and picked up 5 kites- anyone got old color books, color crayons that are broke to bring along- Judy printed 50 of each kind of targets for kids to use up at bb shooting--were bringing up decks of cards, racko, uno, kismet, boggle, and cribbage board- anyone got a dice box or 2-- old puzzles--- it doesnt have to be new- we played more with old stuff when we were young- its a fest for kids too! and while the kids are busy there should be something for the lady's to do also- they all dont like what we do- darn thats good or bad--I have no idea?
come on girls, ladys voice your opinions to keep things moving- Judge Judy says her opinion

the set up is almost done and Im heading for the dollar store to check out the kids toy department (for myself), for more kites, squirt guns, cap guns, color books, crayons-you get the drift- it will be for most in our age bracket then Ill have to figure out what to pick up for the kids--till later snap fizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!

just got back--what a time warp I was in--what do I want- I blocked isle after isle with """MY""""Cart for once--""TODAY IS MY DAY LADIES IN THIS ISLE""!!!!! MOVE ON!!!- THE DOLLAR STORES ALL 2 OF THEM GOT HIT TODAY ALONG WITH TOYS R US-- And a check in Shopco-, there are more kites, boomerangs, bubble things, skirt guns, jump ropes, yo-yo's, friz-bee's, a couple hola hoops, -pick up jacks-, baton;; I was darn dissapointed in not finding color books or color crayons in any of the stores--someone else may have to pick up that slack

to enter the drawing a box will be placed with numbers on folded paper in it
when they draw the number, they go to the prize table and only take the numbered prize that there number is on--NO OTHER- they then can trade it between each other after

I believe the age should be between 4-15 for this drawing
1-ticket per person ages 4-15
it will give late comers kids a chance at a prize

Im now working on adult prizes -16 to --- hope I can pull it off-- the kids come first in our books, we can survive- the kids need our help to do the same-were all going to need a fishing buddy someday

I won't be able to make it down to visit.  We aren't going up to Hackensack till Saturday early AM so we will have limited time as it is.  Have a good time, stay safe, and have a beverage or three for me, as I will return the favor and salute the IBOTS in Hackensack...
