Tree planting time!

Once again, it's that time of year to plant trees. Every year we purchase at least a hundred trees to replace the winter kill.

This is today's project.

Mostly we plant pines because of the sandy soil.
But, when the apple trees go on sale, we add a couple more to the orchard.

from what I can see from the picture they look mostly like the long needle variety, aren't they more messy then the short needle type? I have a short needle type, birds love it for cover, but made does it produce pine cones. confused-3316.gif

Yup, jack pine, red pine & white pine grow the best here. I have some of the spruces in my yard, but they grow slow.

I got most of them plugged into the ground....I think I have about 35 left...man, I'm tired....  doofus-2124.gif

I thought I only had 35 left....it was closer to 50.... 

But, they are all in the ground now.....fffffuuuuuuu......on to the next big thing....
