We need resident deer eliminated from our orchard. It has an 8' to 9' high electrified fence (with mesh)surounding the 40 acres, two cattle guards at both entrances, and a few Deer who were born in here or fawned in here are adament to live in here. This has been going on for 25 plus years.

We have all the appropriate permits from the DNR to use night vision, bait, and shining.

Only bows and crossbows allowed.

Only progessional hunters need apply. Please bring credentials.

Nice find for some bowhunters, I checked out their website and it looks to be ligit.  I wonder how many deer they think they have on the 40-acres???

Those deer are pretty old now born 25 years ago./  Must have been two males born with no offspring since eh?

night vision, shining, and bait. how hard could it honestly be to find the deer? if they have had contact with people there going to be use to it and be very tolerant of it. this is a joke right?

I don't know a lot about it but I find it hard to believe they got permits to shine and use bait.  I hunt the Metro Bow Hunts and there is NONE of that allowed and that's always been a question of us hunters - why not bait...if its for removing them?  I for one wouldn't trust this.  I'd be afraid of getting into trouble with the DNR and losing my hunting privledges.

i agree don , someting seems fishy  :doah:, and why dont they get rid of the deer themselves ???? im sure they know someone who hunts , with out the baits and nightvision , would be fun though...., and yes hunter is right how do you get progressional status ? :rotflmao:

Dunno, seems a little weird.........usually the DNR will post the special hunt....not the owner of the orchard......

Not sure what to think. I might have to talk with a friend that works for the DNR.

Does he think the deer are blind? How the hell are you going to spook up a deer at night within bow range using night vision?

This is not normal at all.....

he replyed to my email. i asked him for proof also that the dnr would let him do something like this. i mean those are the 3 biggest no-no's that they tell us not to do

The weirdest part to me was how he said that he wanted the hunters to be on call and when they spot a deer, they will call and expect the hunter to show up within a couple of days???

Explain to me how that will work?

Also, does he think us hunters can still hunt with a bow, possible but the percentages are a lot less than sitting in a stand and wacking a few each day.

i emailed him too , and for some odd reason hes pretty adement he wants these deer hunted at night . and doesent want people in stands , but yet no firearms allowed , i dont know what exactly this guy is asking for, other then he wants deer removed illegally form his property with the use of nightvision etc.....  i sent an email to the local dnr as well we,ll see what they say tommorow.

weird :doah:

No tree stands is probably because its an orchard.  Most trees wouldn't support a hunter in stand and if they could, then he's worried about his crop.

I still feel uncomfortable with this arrangement.

This would be good for day hunts and blinds. But this guy is trying to chase deer and wants a bow hunter to shoot them in a run and he thinks they will get close enough to shoot them during the night.  :bonk:

i emailed him as well, and he said he has all the permits on hand, i personally dont beleive him, because i highly dout that the DNR would allow him to do this and give him permission for the 3 biggest No-nos in the book. they would have him hire some sharpshooters.

I did talk with the guy from the DNR. He said that some times they allow it but each hunter would have to be named on the permit. He said he knows nothing about this and that it was weird too. He works in the area.  He said that there are a few companies that do it but they charge $400 per deer and use guns. He has never heard of it by night vision with a bow.
