Man, what's the deal.  It seems like EVERY week someone in the NFL is getting busted for DUI, hit & run, drugs, assault, domestic violence, money laundering, boat sex scandals (or sex scandals in general), etc.  Even the NBA isn't this bad.  Why don't baseball, hockey, soccer, Nascar, golf, etc players have these issues?  It really just gets old!

Ex-Vike given 2-year suspended sentence

Former Minnesota Vikings defensive lineman Darrion Scott has received a two-year stayed sentence for putting a plastic bag over his 2-year-old son’s head.

Scott also was fined $200. He pleaded guilty earlier this month to child endangerment and called his actions "stupid and reckless."

Scott said he put the plastic bag over his son’s head to show the boy there was nothing to fear.

If Scott does not violate terms of his probation, the gross misdemeanor will be reduced to a misdemeanor.

Scott was a third-round pick in the 2004 NFL draft and played 48 games with the Vikings. He is now a free agent.

I was thinking the same thing-what gives with these guys?  And then when they announced his "sentence", I thought to myself- "there's a shock-he got let off easy".  As if they'd ever throw the book at a celebrity/public figure.  Yet if some unknown would have done the same thing-he'd be sitting in the slammer for sure!  The more things change, the more they stay the same!

On a side note: OJ "I'm out looking for my wife's killers" Simpson was up on Ottertail lake a few weeks ago.  That's about 20+ minutes away-MUCH too close for my liking!  Apparently he thought the killers might be vacationing on Ottertail?  Strange.  But he must be on to something-with all the time he spends golfing, the killers must be avid golfers! Must be that "Art imitating life" thing.  OJ was a cop in the Naked Gun movies, and now he's playing a detective in real life too!  Sorry to hijack your thread Uncle Dave.  :oops1:  :offtopic:

Oh yeah, I forgot the crime of murder in my rant.  Theft?  Gun running?  Vandalism?  Cow tipping?  I better quit giving them ideas.

If you think athletes are bad.  Polititions are way worse.

I dont think its just atheletes.... In general there are alot of messed up people in the world, some from alcohol/drugs, some dont need vices... they're just that way naturally.  There are alot of other non pro-atheletes puttin bags over kids heads, it just doesnt make the news very often...(more proof to the addage of 7 out of 10 people having no common sense, and half of those being complete morons... :bonk:) but youre right, the difference is if youre famous/have the money... it helps ya to get off with a slap on the wrist.  What I dont understand is if your job is in the entertainment industry, or one that puts you in the limelight, you'd think you'd act a little more in line and be accountable for your actions, but like I said they are but a slice of the world we live in... Dave !  Ya do bring up a good point.... ya never hear about hockey players commiting any crimes outside of DWI's or the Bertuzzi type charges from a fight in a hockey game... I wonder why that is? :reporter;  I dont know dakids... aren't polititions the cream of the crop? ;) :whistling:

Yeah... I was thinkin of good ole Dino... :whistling:  I thought he got in trouble for bringin his trash out while bringin his "own junk" out for the neighbors to see..... :oops1: but that seems to be the exception for the most part... Probert with his cocaine addiction, there's a few, but the last 10 years reports for the NHL read like a week in the NBA & NFL....
