Now before I get started I want to make it clear that these are just my opinions and that I DID take part of the early anterless hunt and had a blast and loved every minute of it but...
First I don't think my area 159 had the amount of deer the DNR thought we did to allow 7 deer per person. I know there's a healthy population but I don't think it's that out of hand. So next year I would like to see maybe a youth hunt or a first time deer hunters hunt where anyone that hasn't ever registered a deer before in MN and or is under 18 or what ever age and is occompanied by a legal guardian that has their hunters safety certificate may take part in the early hunt. In my own opinion I think this would get more young people involved and maybe your wife or whoever to see why we love the woods so much. It's not to cold out yet, deer aren't that spooked, the woods are alive with animals and colors. I think it would help the sport of hunting grow or atleast have a few more people understand that it takes work and patients to hunt. At the same time there won't be as many hunters in the woods taking a lot of deer.
Or I know in some areas the towns have just a ridiculous amount of deer. Well instead of putting on a whole area anterless season give out city limit tags and let bow hunters hunt within city limits. Let people by tags from the city that don't count against their normal tags. The city could use the money for whatever then (maybe free beer at the town festival :toast:) I know a few towns allow hunters in city limits but don't give out special tags. Now if I only have one night to get out and go hunting I don't want to waste my tag sitting in my backyard but if I could purchase a city limits tag....I would love to shoot a deer under the swing set!
Now this is just and idea. I know some of you may disagree with me and that's ok I'd like to hear all responses. If you have a different idea I'd love to hear that also.

Let the small bucks walk. Don't assume the neighbors will shoot them if you don't. If you shoot him what chance does that buck have to grow......ZERO!

Like Big E, I also enjoy hunting the early doe season.  With that said, I also feel there should be some changes to the early season.  I would suggest one thing.  Anyone who participates in the early doe season should not be allowed to hunt during the opening weekend of the regular season.  This would help spread out the hunter densities in many areas.
