I live in Spearfish, SD.  It is western SD (northern Black Hills area).  We are getting pounded by snow.

My plans are to leave for our deer camp in northern MN tomorrow.  I hope that will be possible.

I can't believe you all are using the "S" word like it's no big deal!  For shame and in a public forum too!  :rotflmao:  Hopefully all you that want it get it, and I hope it goes around me-I'm not ready for it yet!   :cold:

nothing is more b-e-a-utiful than hunting in the snow, the woods are so quiet. it would be great if it snowed for opener, it would make tracking a breeze!

The weather guy this morning said if you are at Wall Drug you should stay there!!  Guess he was right   :cold:

Hopefully the wind does not pick up so you can make the trip safely to MN

We have almost two feet here in Spearfish.  They have 39" in Deadwood and Lead, SD.  The interstate 90 is closed from WY to east of Wall.  So, if you are at Wall Drug, then you have to stay there.

Good luck driving, we've driven through that crap before, but it's usually to get to MT for elk/muley rifle season.

Did you have some snow slide down off the roof since the pic you sent to my phone earlier or is it just adding up that quick still?

Holy schnickeys.......

It's adding up that fast.  I just bought a plow (from my uncle) for my 4-wheeler.   :snow2:

The bad thing is I am picking it up from him this weekend at deer camp.   :banghead:

(I don't like the name DeadWOOD for some odd reason)

Is that your way of asking if I'm a big ol' softee?  The Mrs. says I'm softhearted.  That's only when I want something.  :whistling:

The interstate is closed from WY to Mitchell.  They are not going to start plowing until tomorrow morning.  There are motorists stranded on the interstate and the authorities can not get to them.

Here is an update on my situation.  The interstate is still closed.  They said it won't open until this evening.  I will have to wait until morning and miss hunting on the opener.

My hope is to leave about 5 am drive to Owatonna (my wife and three of the kids will stay at my in-laws).  Then I will hop in a car with my 12 year old and buddy and drive to Waskish.  We should get there about 9-10 pm if all goes well.

Then hunting from Sunday thru Saturday.

I left at 5:30am this morning.  I just crossed MN border. A little over 2 hours and I will be in Owatonna.
