Anyone else hunting right now? I'm in my blind as I type this. Pretty quiet this morning but the wind is down a lot from yesterday, late mornings have been the best for deer movement, so hopefully I see the big 10 pointer that I'm after.

I went out to my land yesterday with the intention of doing a little bow hunting.  I walked around a little a flushed a couple grouse (gun in truck) but things looked a little bleak as the usually do this time of year.  I never took out the bow and went to visit a couple neighbors.   I must be getting soft.

Went out and popped a couple roosters and chased up a nice 8 point and about 4 other deer.

Yes, I'm out for pheasants, my deer tag is filled.

Sorry for the dark picture, it was about 16:30, time between getting dark and a flash not really helping.

i seen a total of 22 deer today. from this mornings hunt and this afternoons hunt. but no shooter bucks even showed up. even the little ones that were in the feilds werent even really chasing does. getting a little frusterated because the rut around here should of kicked in by now.

The rut is in full swing where I am hunting in afton, I am seeing small bucks chasing does all over, last Saturday I had a nice doe come racing through at about 50 yards, a big 8 pointer was right on her heels.they finally slowed down just out of range, the doe slowed down and raised both of her hindlegs off the ground, sorta teasing the buck, then took off again. Yesterday I saw a fork chasing a small doe but I passed on both.we did get a nice 8 pointer a Couple days ago and the neck was huge, dressed out just over 200. It may be coming to the end but this past weekend was in full swing still.
