Weather has been cold and rain the past few days, Some smelt are being picked up along park point but with east winds waves make dragging a seine very hard at best. Still going to be a little while before it is worth travelling for.

Latest, if the weather holds those who keep track of the smelt are looking for a run midweek. Rvers have been poor for many years.

Smelt are running. Reports of seining action along park point and also dippers are getting fish in the Lester River. If winds die down some and keep the waves on the big lake down there will be a lot of folks out after dark this evening. Today finds us with partly cloudy skies and temps in the low 60's with west winds 10-15 20% chance of rain later today.. :happy1:

Friday night brought fishermen to the lake and some smelt were taken but not a run as was being hoped for. Those that were caught had to be worked for. A lot of people at the Lester River dipping and a few were getting enough for a meal. Warmer weather on tap here and West winds so the best is still to come. For smelters on Park Point the wind is a factor as an east wind brings in the waves.

 Today
Partly sunny. Isolated rain showers in the afternoon. Highs 55 to 60. West winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of showers 20 percent.

 Tonight
Mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers in the evening...then partly cloudy after midnight. Lows 32 to 37. West winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of showers 30 percent.

 Sunday
Partly cloudy in the morning then clearing. Highs 58 to 63. West winds 10 to 15 mph.

 Sunday Night
Mostly clear. Lows 30 to 35. West winds 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest after midnight.

 Monday
Mostly sunny. Highs 63 to 68. South winds 5 to 10 mph.
