My daughter will be home from colledge, and we will both be out hunting the early doe season.
Maybe get a little duck hunting in too....

Good luck to all that go out!

I have been waiting for this all year. I will be out there but have to be at a funeral service for my cousin on Sat. He was killed by two deputies at the Elk River courthouse recently. Something usually messes with a good hunt.

Not me, but I have seen two doe road kills in 1 day, is the rut starting already?  I wonder why the does are hanging out by the road.  I guess I need to study more about deer behavior.

Not me this year... no early season in my area.  Although the area is still intensive harvest, they dropped the early doe season.  I did hunt it the past two years but I am generally against it.  We did use it to introduce a new hunter to deer hunting the past two years.  It was a very good experience for all involved.

It could be that the other natural food sources are starting to loose there apeal and the green road ditches are the best food source available.  We see this in our area up north.  We don't see any deer when the acorns are dropping and when they are gone the deer show back up at the food plot and ditches in large numbers.
Anything that is free is worth saving up for.

Looks like these areas are for the Early Antlerless this weekend October 10-11th.

A friend and I will be hunting this weekend. We will be bringing a new hunter out for the first time. I suppose he will see nothing but bucks :banghead:   Happy hunting to everyone!

I seen 3 bucks yesterday...a button, a spike and a 6 pointer travelling together.

This morning I got busted by 2 does....the leaves are so thick in the woods, they seen me before I seen them. They quickly ran away! DOAH!  :doah:

well i dropped a nice doe saturday evening. i got off work at 4pm and i knew we were gonna be busy so i brought my stuff to work with me. i decided that sitting in the stand wasnt going to work because its my only time out for the early season. well i was trailing 3 big does and they kept busting me. so i finally ran 100 yards around them and stayed with the wind in my favor and stalked them. got within 40 yards of them and they were listening and on aware but couldnt find me but there was no shot that was offered to me then they walked into some tall grass and stood broadside but i could only see there heads, then they went down into a small swampy area and i snuck through the pine trees and there they stood faceing me and watching me so i have had enough to this point and shouldered the gun and put the cross hairs on her neck about half way up and pulled the trigger and on the guns report she dropped were she stood, i checked the shot and it cut through her wind pipe and severed her spine so i dont think she even knew what happened... how did everyone else do.
