This weekend my brother and I put up a new stand for him and fixed mine up a little bit.  I would imagine most of you have also done the same in the last couple of weeks.  Lets see some pictures of your stand or a view from your stand.  I'll post some of my pictures tomorrow.  It might help to set your desktop background to a view from your stand to get excited about the coming season.

ill be going to do a bit of trimming this weekend out of my box stand(we call it the shooting house) i need a lane to the left and need to trim up the right side of the four wheeler trail also so i can shoot a little further. as for the upnorth i havent done anything up there for stands im going to be hunting behind my great grandmas(12 acres) that doesnt get hit at all. its bordered by our other property that we hunt and there has been a real big buck spoted over there(20+ points) i guess is what my grandpa said. ill be hunting out of my climber with the rifle that weekend.

I built this last month.  Its sitting on the edge of the woods, over looking the corn and soy fields with a creek running between the two.  I think it will be a promising place.  Many nice bucks have been taken from this area.

Nice looking stand HR21, now just staple some camo burlap around and it would be perfect.

I guess we think alike.....I have 24' of it sitting in my back yard airing out with some scent killer on it. In the next few days, I will drive out and staple it on.

i add camo burlap to all of my stands that are open on all sides. i even zip tied some to my climber stand to avoid foot and leg movement issues. i have velcro on the bottom of it so when i get to my desired height i adjust it and velcro it to my foot platform and it eliminates all movement from the burlap in the wind all together.

My dad and a couple hunting buddies were up in Waskish last weekend checking and repairing our stands.  They marked a couple new spots for portables.  They cleared shooting lanes, so we are good to go.  Come on Novemeber!   :fudd:   :deer:

We got my ladder stand put up last Saturday when we were done with our Fall turkey hunt. I'll be going back out this Sat to help my Dad move his stand a little further onto the edge of a nice thicket that the bucks like to sneak through and bed down in during mid day hours.

I'll wrap some camo around my stand while I'm out and i spotted a few limbs that need to be trimmed to open up a couple shooting lanes to the nw and ne and I should be good to go also. My son and I saw a very nice 8-10 ptr sneaking up through the thicket and several nice does while we were watching turkeys Sat am.

Here is my stand and a picture of where I do most of my shooting.

Here is the stand I helped my brother build last weekend.  You might notice his looks a lot nicer than mine, but I have the better spot.

You must be talking about my brothers.  There is barely room for me in my stand.

Need to get a few things done around the house this morning, then I hope to head out to the woods for a bit to do some more preseason scouting. I'm hoping this cooler weather will get the rut going as we head into firearms opener.

Gotta verify zero on the rifles and handgun yet.  I was going to do it today, but did a class for retired LEO's this morning and had a bunch of relatives use the range today, so never got to my rifles.

Maybe a quick pheasant hunt in the late morning and check the zero in the afternoon.

Didn't make it out to the woods Sat to check rubs and scrapes or to the field to sight in slug gun...too much stuff to do at home and list seemed to grow by the hour.

I'll get out on Wed on my day off and check the area for new activity, get some pics and stop by the field on the way home to take a few shots and zero in the Rem 870 for slug season.

Went up Friday to the hunting land.  Did a little bow hunting, scouting and stand fixing.  Things are looking good for the season.  I had a doe at 20 yards on Friday but for some reason I just didn't shoot.  (must be getting soft).  Anyway my son twice saw what he described as a "huge dark antlered buck". The second time it came directly at him with head to the ground.  Although the buck got to 30 yards, it never presented a good shot.  Now, I'm ready.
