Yesterday on my way home from work at 6:30 am I wasn't paying attention and a buck jumps out in front of my car. I slam on the brakes and he tries to return from where he came.  He should have just kept going.  He falls and I run him over.  The skiding front tire messes up one of his back quarters and the back tire rolls right over his middle.  His liver was in 2 pieces and his stomach burst :puke: :puke:   After the cop gives me the posesion tag I take him home and gut him out, hang and butcher him.  I got 47 pounds of meet off of him.  The best part was that the only thing broken on the car was a sway bar.  The mech. said it might have been ready to go anyways because it was pretty rusty.  The whole bill came to 50.00 :happy1:

Would this deer have counted for the contest if I had taken a picture with the car, deer, myself, and MNO?

Is it illegal in MN or WI to pick up a deer or take it's antlers before calling a cop or the DNR??  Just curious b/c I saw at least 3 bucks this weekend in WI with antlers cut off or the whole head missing.

i think it is, but im not sure. it is roadkill but whats stopping people from saying that they found the buck in the ditch when they really just poached him? so i would be confident in saying that yes you need to call the cops reguardless if you hit the deer or not if you want it.....cant just cut off its head and leave the rest... i was tempted last week with it because i nice well i wanna assume 8 pointer because he only had half a rack but the one side was nice and the other half had been broken off upon collision im assuming.

It is illegal to stop and cut off the antlers of a roadkill.  It is even illegal to gut the deer before the cops get there.

A few years ago I knew a few kids that stopped on there way to school and picked up a bloated  :puke:roadkill and snuck it into the school bathroom and put it on a toilet for fun. :rotflmao:  They got busted by the janitor who wasn't amused and called the dnr.  the kids were charged and lost their hunting right for a couple of years.
