  Broke camp yesterday and came home.  Now I'm back to my 9-5 reality.  It was very hard getting up this morning.  Seems like every year I get depressed right after the season.  Even though it was a good year and I shot a nice buck, it's very hard to see it pass.  I live in the cities with a wife and kids so it is that much harder to get away.  My deer land is up on the range, about 3 1/2 hrs away so I can't just "sneak away" now and then.  Anyone else feel like this?  What are some remedies?

-Fishing
-Horn hunting (shed)
-turkey hunting
-bear hunting
-coyote hunting (sharpen up your shooting skills, open year 'round)

The activities are endless..........
Marry an outdoors woman. Then if you throw her out into the yard on a cold night, she can still survive.

i agree with lex. the seasons arent over just because deer camp is done. i know everyone enjoys deer camp but theres other critters to be hunted also.

coyotes being one of my favorite. then ice fishing. watch the vikings get to the superbowl. go to eelpout ;)
pheasants grouse turkey bear squirrel lots more than deer camp.

Yeah, I hear ya....the last sunset from the stand sticks in my memory till next year like a big 8X10 photo!  maybe go back and look for new spots for stands... no better time than now , especially if we get a little snow to see they're "hiways".... me? I go grouse hunting, get my deer hunt/camp photos sorted & in the ole album... pour over the DNR reports and outdoor news articles etc... I dont get depressed till the last possible day I can grouse hunt... then I pout for a week and get my  :censored: out ice fishing to forget!  The Poutfest helps to do that very well!  ;) ;D :rotflmao: Codys right on with that! :whistling:

I am depressed about the season wrapping up also.  I still have time to hunt but am only going to be able to go next Saturday afternoon.  The son, and wife take up a lot of my time now.  I wish I had a full time job to keep my mind off of it.  It gets really hard to sit home all day because you don't have the cash to get out to the field!  If you know of some FT work PM me!!!

Although I hunt other game and fish both open water and ice, I always feel a little sad breaking camp and heading home from our "Jim Moline Gang" deer camp in Waskish.  I hunt whitetail in SD until the end of the year, but it's not the same as the time spent at deer camp with my family and close friends in northern MN.  As I head home from Waskish, I start to think that I can't wait until next year!
