My 14 year old daughter was lucky enough to shoot her first deer on her first year hunting.
She saw it before I did and was very calm while it walked up to the shooting lane.

It turned and walked right at us so it was a tuff shot for a rookie, she shot and it just stopped and winced up a little. After that I had to look back at her to see she was not loading another round in so I had her lever another round in and take a second shot.
By this time the deer turned broad side and was walking funny but still movinf slowly.

She shot again and the deer just urned back around and wobbled off the cut line so I knew one of the rounds hit it good.

I had her wait 15 minutes then walked down to where it was at on the first shot, found white belly hair and a few drops of blood.I got worried then that it was a brisket shot and not a good chest hit.

But shortly after we topped the ridge I saw it laying on it's side.
I showed her what to look for, and how to go up to a downed deer to make sure it was dead.

What an awsome feeling to see your kid shoot thier first deer and it to be a 6 point buck.

I would have to agree with you Cody, it does look a little older with such a big body to it.

Congrats to your daughter Benny! I can't wait to see my son shoot his first deer! :happy1:
Marry an outdoors woman. Then if you throw her out into the yard on a cold night, she can still survive.

Thanks guys, I will have her read the post tomorrow.
We have a scale but forgot to put it on to see how much it went for sure.I am guessing about 160 to 170 maybe?

It did look older as there was a lot of white in the face and the hair was more of a lighter gray than my fork horn.

Super job there Benny's daughter. (Benny didn't provide a name)  Sounds like she did everything right.  I was with my son when he shot his first deer and I know it's a great experience.  It does appear to be older deer.   Now, if only we can get Benny to take better pictures.  :rotflmao:

Great work Benny's daughter.  I cannot wait to get my kids in the deer stand with me.  8 more years to go for my son and 10 for my little girl!!!!!
Take a kid hunting and fishing... It'll be the best thing for generations to come.
