I will be outfitting Whitetail bow hunting starting next season, will have more info in about a month. This is just a heads up for those of you that want to bow hunt but really don't have a place to hunt! A bow hunt for the average Joe. Thus the name should be Average Joe Outfitters. Rings a bell, I better make sure nobody has laid clam to that one first. Just a heads up thanks :nerd:

I checked on the name I want for my outfitting and Average Joe Outfitters is locked in! "Quality hunting for the average Joe". More info to follow soon. Maybe I can get "Joe the Plummer" to hunt Average Joe Outfitters? Have a good day

No offense, but worst Idea ever...When people pay for hunts they don't want to think of 'average,' they want a great experience.  Also most average joe's don't pay for hunts..

Just saying what everyone else was thinking

Good point... How about you just lease your land to someone.  ??

Point well taken buck. All feedback is always welcome. :green archer: As far as leasing the land out? It's all about putting somebody on the very first deer with a bow. Or maybe on the biggest deer with a bow, or being part of someone stickin deer # 40. It's all about the hunt. And if I can make a feww bucks on the side? Well that would be great. But I have some great stand locations, they're all set up for archery. Some very nice deer have been taken of our properties this year so far, and the muzzel load season should prove to be outstanding :happy1: Putting people on deer is just what I love to do. Thanks for the advice

Just remember that when you charge someone to hunt, you need insurance. When you don't charge, you don't need insurance. The hunter has to provide his own insurance then. I have a snowmobile trail that goes threw my land so I have talked with the DNR on this type of thing. Hunting and snowmobile.

I've never charged anyone to hunt my property.  Several years ago I donated a semi-guided bow hunt that was auctioned off for United Way.  The high bidder shot a very nice 10 point that is now on his wall.  I don't know who was happier, me or the hunter.

it still blows my mind why anyone would pay to shot a deer in MN.. a little scouting and a little luck and you can do it all on your own for free. there are some nice deer out there to be shot. just takes a little work. plus its more rewording to know that you found the deer, found out his patterns and then killed him..

OR am im dead wrong here?

SS,
No, your not exactly dead wrong, however, there are a lot of good reasons to pay for a hunt. It may include food and lodging and a reasonable assurance that you won't get to your "scouted" spot only to find 5 others already set up there.  Some people may not have all the time to scout and would like to enjoy a hunt with a friend without all the work that could be involved.

There are all kinds of people in the world. No two are alike. There are even people that hire an escort service to get a date. There is a market for guided hunts. Whether it is because of time restrictions or just for companionship. They may even pay someone to taxiderm their harvest.
