started reloading again for the upcoming target year. it would seem metro has decent prices on wads/shot. (sitting good with poweder/primers)..
who's thinking of shooting a league this year?
I'm thinking of doing the combo league in forest lake starts in april, 6weeks trap/6weeks skeet/6weeks 5 stand...

Beeker... you should shoot with me and Cody at Wild Marsh this year!  I shot in a 5-stand league at Metro Gun Club in addition to Wild Marsh last year, that was pretty fun too, but made for alot of shooting, but it was close by, and a really good deal! (I guess it makes it more fun when ya come in 2nd place ;)) But we needed more shooters on both our Sporting Clays & 5-Stand league teams, so if anyone is interested, let me know... its alot of fun!  Beeker, if we have to, Cody said he'd sign you to a one year free agent contract w/incentives! ;)

I think I could get on board with that. I'm going to change my strategy this year and shoot more league. the forest lake league is skeet/trap/5stand which helps get the gun moving but it isn't the same as sporting.

this year wisconsins state shoot is in menomonie just over the boarder... a few weeks later mn state shoot happens and then a month after that the zone5 is in MN... so I want to get my schwing moving on those stupid risers that seem to kill me... get in just enough registered targets to qualify and see what happens.

I got 400 8's loaded up here and still have about 500 in the cabinet so I'm ready to go.

what kind of gun did you win? never won anything so nice but maybe I'll bring that nice miller cooler I won at the iron man last year

Yeah, Chris and Debbie at WM are awesome!   Couldnt have nicer folks running a shooting cub... They give out gun certificates now at the banquets, which is kinda nice , cause then ya get to choose what you really want at the store! :happy1:  Beeker, where is the zone shoot this year in MN?  Yeah, last year I shot more league than registered targets, but I missed the state shoot for the first time since I started shooting clays... that wont happen this year! :banghead:

What does Wild Marsh charge for a league?  Just thinking of something different to do instead of my usual golf league.

zone 5 shoot is sept 16-19 at caribou. I'm looking forward to it.

go ahead and forward the contract with a list of all incentives, I'ld like to get that signed and turned in before the guys see me shoot.

gotta have a gun safe.. the basement rafters only work so long

big red.. shooting is the way to go.. forget golf, my clubs now come out once a year for a best ball benefit tournament that I've done since 98... haven't regreted it

Yeah, Big Red.... leave the dark side, and leave golf and its temper tantrums, broken pencils(and clubs) behind.... ;)  I used to golf till I took up sporting clays, and I havent looked back... Beeker, Ive seen you shoot, you'd fit in perfectly on our squad... we're all tortured, wannabe master wingshooters with major room for growth to reach our potential! :rotflmao:  How bout if we make you captain?  If a title wont sway you, Cody will have to resort to some other tactics... ;D :whistling:  But seriously... Red, let us know if youd like to shoot with us, youre more than welcome... :happy1:

I'm not ready to wear the big "C" on my jersey coach.  we can shoot to see who's captain.

if work/money wouldn't keep interfering with my hunting and shooting I would be a master shooter with a wall full of trophy deer.  :rotflmao:

Big Red... Yep you could shoot with us(though after meeting us you may change your mind! :whistling:) We always try to shoot as a group, but it doesnt always work out trying to get everyone together at the same time... they dont have trappers at Wild Marsh anymore, its all automatic traps(multiple) at all stations, so you need another person to pull targets, that is, push buttons on the controllers... the summer league goes from april to august, banquet is in september... its 10 rounds of 50 targets, with two rounds to be shot within their timeframe of about a month.(give or take a few days because of tournaments, holidays etc) we usually shoot two rounds (100 targets) at a time, so you only have to shoot once a month.  You can shoot Tues.-Thurs. during the week, or on weekends... we seem to usually go on Saturday mornings, but not always.... Membership is $50, a single member round is $16.50, and if you buy a punch card you get a free round when the card is filled.  Its alot of fun, and it keeps one mind on the important things... like the next hunting season! ;D Cody... didnt we make you Captain last season?  If we did, you did a great job! :happy1:  Plus that "C" would look perfect on your vest...C for Cody! Yeah Beeker, hows that go... I live to hunt, & work to shoot? Something like that....

Pout-

I shot with you and Cody last year at the Marsh.  My Dad and brother tagged along too.  If my memory serves me right, I finished last....

I will let you know sooner than later on teaming up.  By the way, do I get any incentives?

What do we have for Big Red for shooting with team Boomstix this year? ........There's the rookie of the year award... but that aint for us to give out.  We'll come up with somthing.  Jeesh... Now Beeker's gonna up the annie! :doah:

pout... you can always offer big red all the hulls that we let hit the ground, we'll always help him finish his beer.. and all the free advice that hasn't worked for us over the years (like, your behind it, get ahead of it, I don't know what the hell your doing on that one) and don't forget to mention that next years pheasants will seem fat and slow compared to some of the targets.

Jeez... thanks I think.  I was born and raised in Wisconsin, I had a beer in hand when I came out into this world...... No one touches my beer, except for the pretty waitresses..... :drinking:

i usually dont sign up till the spring shoot that they hold at Wild Marsh. or you can sign up the day you go to shoot league, we just have to have your name down on the team list. it is alot of fun. especially when we get together as a team or most of us anyway and shoot.

im going to shoot some crows in march to warm up for snow geese and the snow geese will be to warm up for sporting clays and the sporting clays will be to warm up for early goose and the early goose will be to warm up to duck and so on  :rotflmao: :blablabla:
