I dont wanna be thinking "glass half empty"... but I gotta be fair, whats my deadline as to when I pull out if I dont get an answer soon?  I gotta give you guys time to round up some other guys if need be... It is sounding like we'll be hearing somthing quick here though... Then there's the reality of bad news & not having a job or not getting a new one on time... Ya never know. I suppose I could go the buddy league route if this drags out much longer... hopefully wont have to do that....

I hear you there.  To let the cat out of the bag, our school district is releasing the # of FTE's for each building.  As an elective teacher, Industrial Arts, our numbers keep dropping due to increases in the # of credits in other areas, primarily math and science.  I hope to keep a full time job for next school year.

it kills me when they tell you "we're doing lay offs"... then they add in "in 3 months"... wtf is that? I hate waiting on crap like that.  sounds like the wife is safe.. for now. I'm going to have to get a bag of lead and get some reloading done

Good to hear the wife stays working.

But you're right Beeker, either let me go or keep me on board and quit jerking me around.  It does get old and how is a person supposed to respond to that?

The only weekends I cannot shoot are this coming with Easter and then the 16-17-18, family activities planned.

if any of your are needing a shooting vest.. the gander clearance center in maplewood has the triple horn and a few guide series vests for around 20$... they also have some decent deals on t-shirts (1.97) and kids boots (columbia brand 15$).

I'm heading to Vegas this coming Saturday.  Anyone else wanting to shoot Sunday the 25th in the AM?  That's the best day for me.

PM me if that works for anyone else.  Best way to get a hold of me in case I don't check back soon enough.

well if i understand right if its your first year shooting there then there is a membership fee(i think) but if you shot there for league last year or whenever they waive the membership fee but its 50 bucks per person on the team of 8 for the sponsorship fee(400 bucks) so roughly i would say 85 bucks at most for me, i dont know about others like yourself beeker and Red

Usually Saturdays are best for me too.  Cody, keep me posted on the Saturdays you're avail and I'll meet you up there.  I guess I should extend that to all as well.

Guys.... sorry for putting this off for so long, and waiting till the last minute.  I havent found out my fate as of yet for my employment. :banghead:  It keeps getting dragged on and on... I may find out in two more weeks, or it could be two more months.... no one knows. :doah:  I figured I may as well shoot league, I'll go crazy if I actually am working the whole summer, and I keep looking at my citori, just sitting there, giving me that look like my setter does when I go to shoot and leave him there staring out the window. ;)  So count me and Pat in... we havent gotten ahold of Pat #2 and his buddy yet, but are trying.... Yeah, Saturdays are best, but Im also able to do Sundays also.... we should get out and get those first two rounds in asap..... Im hoping Pat #2 is going to join us... good to have a few extra shooters in case someone slips up and cant get their rounds in each month....  :censored: happens, then the group takes it in the nad's.  Right now we have the minimum 5 shooters we need.... Cody, any word from Mitch?  We need to get our team signed up still, we have to be signed up and our first two rounds in by the end of this month, not sure of the deadline, but its probably the last weekend in april... I'll get back to you guys.

I will have to shoot either April 25th (Sun) or that first weekend May 1/2.

Two rounds meaning 100 total (50 per round)?

Yep... two rounds of 50, 100 total.  If ya look at it... you only have to shoot 100rds. five times over the whole summer... easy to do!  Even with summer being busy for most, if ya cant squeeze in half a afternoon once a month, you're too busy of a guy, and probably should think about one's pace in life.... :whistling:

Pout do you think debbie will let me slide with the sponorship fee till next time i shoot?

Not sure, but it says the team fee is due in whole so not sure how we'd swing that if we aint all gonna meet or show up on the same day.... she has been very forgiving with us in the past though.... I guess we'll find out..... :whistling:

most of the clubs are pretty "open" to the idea that we don't really have a sponsor and have to pony up the dough ourselves. give em a call and see what they say

Thanks for clarifying.  I will have to shoot May 1 or 2.  Weather will determine which I guess.  If not, may have to run up there on a Thurs or Tues afternoon.

Anyone care to join me then?

Red, do you mean going May 1or 2, or during the week?  Tough for me during the week unless I use some PTO.... how bout you other guys? Whats good for you all?  I kind of hate to wait till the last days... when ya gotta deal with MN's weather and all, but Im pretty flexible.  Red, Are you up on the "fine print stuff" with the league...?  With say, 6 or 7 guys on a team, they take the 5 top scores each round... If a shooter doesnt get in all his rounds, he is taken out of the "gun drawings" at the end of the year...(good insentive to shoot! ;))... there's no league shooting when the club has tournaments going on, so ya gotta keep up on those tourney dates... also, the deadlines for getting rounds in arent always the last days of the month(found that one out the hard way :whistling:)  so its good to keep up on those dates on their schedule...  Still tryin to get ahold of Pat #2 to beef up our squad... anyone know of any others who'd like to shoot with us if he and his friend arent ?  Its nice to have a bigger squad in case someone (or two) dont get rounds in, so the squad doesnt get the rusty trigger award... :bonk:

if your into reloading forest lake gun club has reclaimed lead for 16$ per 25#... otherwise for shells your on your own. did you check wally world? they used to have topguns for 5.97?.  has anyone shot yet? I'm thinking weekend after this would be good if I have the cash... or I would be in for first week of may.. I know they have state super sporting there the weekend before labor day weekend. fyi... anyone thinking super sporting?

That weekend (May 1/2) is the most convenient time.  I could sneak in the rounds the weekend of April 24 and 25 but we have my parents coming to town and are celebrating my sons 5th birthday.  Maybe that Sunday AM (24th) if I can get my Dad to pull clays for me.  I haven't read the fine print recently but I need to check on that tonight.  And besides, who doesn't like the chance of winning a free gun?

If I can't figure out the fine print, I'll PM you Pout, you being the captain and all...
