I'm still out.  Wife got a deer slug hunting so if it's not going on the wall I'm not shooting.

Still going out but not seeing anything cause the riverbottom was flooded this year and all the gun hunters came into my land opening weekend while I was up north and shot anything that moved.I have a very small piece of property that I have been trying to manage for a few years but when ppl do this it hard to get my hopes up for the rest of the season :doah:

I've been taking a break after hunting quite a bit prior to gun season then hunting most of the 9 day rifle season.  I'm just now getting the itch to get back out there.  I may go muzzle loader hunting this weekend.   I will probably bow hunt some more as we have another month or more to do so.

Went Sat morning.....nada..., went Sun. morning....one primed up coyote and I talked to some turkeys, but dead sea for me.

Deer were pushed around quite a bit around me, it'll be mid-december before I can get them coming into their traditional winter bedding areas where I can put an arrow through a doe.

I just hunted SW this evening... We saw about 10 - 12 does and no bucks. Talking with the friend that I hunted with who knows the area very well and hunts a lot says that you usually see a good second rut in those parts due to the poor doe to buck ratio. So although the "rut" activity is slow now it may pick up. Obviously not as hot and heavy as the first round but the second round may be better than other areas of the state. The cold and the snow is going to push the deer onto food so stick close  :happy1:

My 2 cents

Where you guys hunting in SWmn?? That is where I am from and were I hunt. I have been out a few time this week with lots of deer seen but havent seen the deer I am looking to shoot yet. Its pretty easy for me to see 20+ deer a night going out to feed most I seen this week was 23 and that was tonight 2 small bucks and the rest were does

I am 20 miles NE of Marshall.  Mostly prarrie deer that I have been chasing latley.   I hunt a small piece close to the MN river valley but that gets pretty beat up by the lead throwers. I was in stand tonight with no deer movement, hopen weather change gets the deer alittle more mobile during the day!!!!!  Happy Turkey Day to all.... wich reminds me anyone know if the apps are out for the spring hunt?

went out this afternoon to do a scouting round.
found an area where the deer are moving regularly.
by the time I figured out how I should set up on it, I already tracked it up so I'll let it cool off for a couple days and then hit it with black powder.

lot...no, LOTS of snow hanging on the balsams.
if them deer felt any trouble it would be sooo easy to disapear.

pretty wet too, out walking around through the hardwoods.
about 9-10 inches of snow on the ground and as I said, lots of neck baths.
man that's chilly.
take a kid hunting and fishing!!

THWACK KILLS!!
