I'm excited to get back out! I have time cleared Friday - Monday to hunt this week. I'll be focusing on a turnip plot. In the morning will be focusing on travel routes between the food and the beds and in the afternoons and evenings I will be right on the plot! I asked about your corn and bumping deer because I have decided to stay off my plot in the am. I saw them one time and bumped them off and imagine that the other times I bumped them off. I am right on the plot so may be a biot different than your situation.

I went out there to pull a card from a trail cam and not a single picture! The plot was tore up and turnips were being eaten right in front of the camera. Frustrating.... oh well.

Did you look to see if there is any corn left in the field? If it has been all eaten, they will look for somthing else to eat.

If there is one thing I have learned in life it is to trust your gut!! I just had that feeling today. I have a great story for you all but I am exhausted! Just got home about an hour ago now and let me tell you... I cannot believe we found this deer.

Been hunting this deer for about a month now. Have seen him a few times and even had him at 32 yards a couple weeks ago. I'm very happy with him mostly because of the hunt. We hunted him hard. Once we had an idea of what he was doing we kept closing in on him until we had him pinned and then it was just a matter of time. So thankful for this deer.

The interesting thing about this deer. I thought he was an 8 until we found him dead... kinda took me back. We saw him 4 times over the last month and every time after we saw him we always asked each other, did you see brow tines? I didn't...oh they must be really short.  ;) Then we started to think that maybe they were just broke. Well, mystery solved today!

Just a great hunt last night and the track job was incredible!

Well... time to do some laundry, back in the stand today at 2pm! Lots of does running around and my camera guy has a buck tag left!  :green archer:

I spent the morning in the hanger bow stand.... seen a couple doe's, but not in range.

So? Where the brows broke? or non-existant?

I am sure I could get permission to hunt it but its straight corn not a fenceline, hill, tree there to set up in the place he is walking out is a county park

They were moving all night during that snow storm we had Friday night into Saturday. My trail cam was full of pics on the turnip plot.

With muzzleloader coming to a end. I'm ready to get the hoyt out and hope to take a doe at least to fill the tag. Not seen any bucks. I guess this is what happened when you dont get the food plots planted! I'm already starting to think of all the areas and what to plant! its never to early!

I just got in...not much moving this morning...

I pulled a cam off the back hay field, they have been there. Still the doe group that I have been seeing. And the fork trying to get some yesterday afternoon...

I don't think anyone will be out today and tomorrow may be just as bad.  Depending on deep the snow get, I may not make it out with the bow again this year.  If I can't drive in, it's a 1.5 mile walk.....

That would also mean a mile and half DRAG back out if you get one.

I'll be sitting on the edge of a picked corn field this evening, deer have been herding up and last night there 25-30 standing out there. Guess I'll brave the wind and temps to try get another in the freezer.
