Whitefish Region Fishing Report
Walleye are still biting, but not as fast and fierce. Anglers are reporting walleye in shallow waters (approx 12 feet), are hitting with shiners and rainbows bobbers, and northland buck shot or lindy rattle spoons tipped with minnow heads jigged in 26 to 32 feet of water. Lake trout are up to their mysterious ways in Trout Lake just cruising along and not really hitting anyone’s bait. Northern action remains good on Pelican, as well as on Mitchell Lake and many smaller lakes. Try a tip-up with large sucker minnows in 12 to 16 feet of water. Crappie continue to have a good late afternoon bite using glow jigs and minnows or Wax worms, look for fish suspended.
