not sure how many will say the real # but i was thinking about the deer i lost this past season and thought why not do a post about it and see how many others have lost so that's the question how many deer have you lost and how long have you been hunting it's gonna happen sometime i understand that even the pro's have lost deer myself i have lost 1 and have been hunting 14 years now also to the best of my knowledge that deer is still running around the woods so how about you how long you been hunting and how many deer have you lost?
Hunting is not life and death. It is more important than that.

I havent lost a deer yet.  I have shot and missed my mark - I clipped a front leg and found a little bit of blood, but it was moving pretty well.  I looked around a little for it, but didnt see any signs that is was down, or would have died, it was a very minimal wound.
-- I figure my time will come, but so far I have been lucky and I either hit and they go down, or miss entirely.   :doah:
I did think the buck I got this year would have been lost, the angle was steep, only an 8 yard shot, so I thought I hit the shoulder blade and it would just shake off my arrow, but as it walked away, it stumbled and only walked about 50 yards and I heard it fall.  Didnt even run  :deer:

Haven't lost one yet.....I've had one hell of a time retrieving them. I had a friend blow the bottom jaw off of a big one in WI that I helped him find and dispatch. It was a very poor shot but nonetheless it needed to be found. I'm touching wood right now so as to keep it this way. ;D

2... one with my bow and one with my riffle.  Bow was 2 years ago and riffle was last season.  I've been hunting 10 years.

Bow- I miss judged the yardage and hit high
Riffle- hit a branch that mostlikey threw it off, I could see the bullet hole in a branch in the next tree 10 feet away.  the branch was no bigger then my thumb but thats the only thing I can think of that could have happend.  I know my gun wasn't off because I shot 2 other deer that day and both where perfect heart shots.

I've been deer hunting for 21 years now and have lost 4 or 5.  3 does and 1 buck for sure.  I'm not proud of that but I'm not ashamed to admit it.
Take a kid hunting and fishing... It'll be the best thing for generations to come.

Been hunting for twenty years and have lost 2.  Both does and with the bow...found both weeks later 1 in a swamp and 1 traveled about a mile and died behind the neighbors barn.

In about 25 years I've lost 2 nice bucks. 1 with a 30-30, next year bought a 30-06. 1 with my bow 2 years ago. Thought I had a good shot on that one.
