where to mount the transducer for my new humminbird 898c si

Well i bought my self a christmas present a new himminbird 898c si  and now i am getting ready to install it and i am haveing trouble with where i am going to mount the transducer on the back of my boat here are a few pics of the back of my boat in one i am holding the new transducer any ideas on where the ideal location on the back of my boat would be for this transducer would be greatly apreciated

First off you need to check the directions for transducer mounting. I always mount mine in an area that's not to close to the motor. Also look for a flat area on hull below transom where there would be less bubbles created to interfere with the signal. I have a transducer mounting board at the bottom of the transom. This gives you some flexibility as to moving the transducer again without drilling any more holes in the boat. The goal is to stay away from turbulence.

You also want to make sure the spot won't interfere with your transom mount trolling motor if that applies in your case. I'd go to the hummingbird factory site and look it up but, your directions should tell you that info.

  If I remember right.... (course, I'm getting old) I mounted my Hummingbird transducer 16 inches away from the motor, and away from a line of rivets (says in the manual)
Cause like Lee said, you can't put it where there is turbulence
