   It  seems a few of the boys have some pent up anger.  The open water contest has only been over a couple of days and testosterone is flowing at a high level.  This is where you vent your frustrations.  Everyone here except Dakids and jkjkoda just got their   kicked by a girl.  I want it to be know that    will not be in this contest.  I personally don't like getting my   kicked by anybody.  It won't happen again.  We probably will have less teams this year because    The excuses are already and will continue to fly !!!!


        If you smack on the smack-down thread you will be gently pounded into oblivion.  Your feelings will be hurt.  Your manhood will be called into question.          (Did I mention    doesn't do the pinata deal in the winter.

DDS I need the staple item NOW.  I'm leaving for deer camp in a couple of hours and i was told that there was a skim of ice on our favorite pike pond up north.  You slacker.  Chop chop, lets go.  I need it now.

DDS is there a chance to start earlier if there is ice on the lakes because when I went out to my truck this morning the case of water I keep in my truck bed had a little ice built up over the night

this week or next im going to start getting my 4wd truck ready for winter new tires and a wheel bearing

I do not spear fish myself but I don't see a issue with spearing fish only thing I can think of is a spear might add a little in length to a fish but then could we deduct a inch if the fish is speared and still count it?

WOndered how long it would take for someone that hasnt signed up for the Challenge to start smacking.....  Less than 24hr!     Her General gets the Prize!     Its a 1971 Ford Pinto that doesnt run or have wheels must be picked up in ND, with no help from me....would make great structure for ice fishing if dumped in a lake...  Note not a Chevy!

Someone's seems a little upset that Boom Goes The Lodge finished a little higher on the leader board this summer. and having to give up the Rock Bass trophy.  Tough year for ya Corny

    1.  Catch a fish that meets the minimum length requirement.     THIS IS THE EASY PART!!!


    2.  Remember to put the staple item next to the fish.  (The staple item is included in the pic to make sure the fish pic is current).     

        2a.  If for example, the staple item is hypothetically the letter A all the other letters of the alphabet don't count.  Yes they are letter of the alphabet.  The staple item is what it is.

   3.  If you get to this point you need a pic of both the fish, the staple item and have it on a measuring device.

     3a.  The numbers on the measuring device need to be readable.

   
    How hard can this be?    The answer is VERY!!


   Like I said, catching the fish is the easy part.  Remembering to put the staple item in the pic is even harder when you just landed the big one.  Getting a pic with the nose of the fish up against the top of the measuring device and in focus is the challenge.  There is no shame in a bad pic.  It's a big part of the challenge.  Good luck to any that chose to take it.

The sun angle is a very valid point. I've fallen victim to the sun being to bright against the ruler and the measurement could not be seen. The problem is you don't find out until you post the photo. It's especially hard on the fish during the hot summer days when you want to get the perfect photo but not stress the

Maybe I need to bring a large black umbrella for the photo ops.

Well I'm pretty sure that everyone here is using a digital camera.  It's not like you have to run some were to get the picture developed.  If in doubt take a sec to review the picture.

  tips: Buy or make a fish board, don't take your picture using a rusty ten year old tape measure. Try and stand over the top of your fish shooting down rather then from any angle. More and more guys are shooting video in their boats and taking video of your catch and then capturing a frame to post is a great way to get a GOOD picture. Attach the staple item to the fish board, you won't lose it and it is always in your shot.

My old samsung digital is only good for one picture and then the batteries are dead. Maybe need to invest in a new one.

If you and Retired are on the same team it would just be 2 boat anchors holding the team back.  Throw in one more of the other 4 I mentioned and you guys would have a better chance of scoring a prize at the scrap iron yard then of scoring a fish.
