I'm as ready as I'll ever be. I keep looking through hundreds of trail cam pics over and over. I have identified at least 9 different bucks in the area I will be hunting with 2 shooters and 1 maybe. Stands have been hung, shooting lanes trimmed a couple weeks ago. Now is about the time I shoot less sets for practice and more single arrow shots. Bow, arrows, broad heads, clothing and assorted other gear has all been checked and double checked more times than I care to count.

I did put a stand up yesterday.  I haven't even dusted off the bow yet.  My blue jeans are always ready to be put on.  I'll find my $10 camo fleece the night before opener and be ready to go.

i have one on the borderline, I have to see him closer to judge him, right now Im leaning on let this one go to grow another year. lots of n young ones, no monsters have appeared yet, but I did check the camera today and there was a tree rubbed, kind of weird to see so early. half the bucks on cam have shed there velvet and the other half have not.

We have a real tall 6 pointer that comes right up to the house (his pic is on a different thread) We named him "Bucky the wonder buck" (cause we wonder why he keeps so close to the house) Anaway....we was sitting on the porch the other night watching "Bucky" when a GIANT 10 pointer came out of the brush and kicked the  :censored: out of Bucky (it was cool to see)....But weird cause I don't have pics of him on and trail camera....so, I think I'll hold out for him while bow hunting.

seemed like it was the weekend to be out. I ran into new neighbors and old (most ever up there). one happened to mention a really nice 10 that has returned for it's 3rd year on their cameras and that it brought a friend this time.. a nice 8. we just got the cameras up. spent the weekend refreshing the trespass signs and gathering some wood. the food plots are getting hit, lots of nice tracks.  we put 2 cameras on the plots.. and this year I ventured down some of the trails and found intersections where I stuck the other cameras. usually I stick the plots and stand areas.

Been out twice and only seen a couple.  Not the big 8 and 10 I have on the camera.

I am ready to hit the woods.
I wont be hunting for a few more weeks though.  I will be starting in early October, and probably only bow hunting those 2 weekends.  We will see how my work schedule looks.  If I get the OK to hunt all year - I will try my luck on the old property we used to hunt.  LOTS OF BIG BUCKS, we haven't hunted it in 2 years, so they have all grown quite large.
Should be a fun year.  So lots of 4-6pters 2 years ago when I hunted.  So those should be some nice bucks now.
