 :reporter;..... what say you

How's about sharing your thoughts on the 2015 fishing opener this year?

Will you be be hitting the water on opener ?

Will you be targeting a specific species ?

What are your first 1 or 2 top bodies of water you'll focus on ?

Your boat, partners boat, or no boat?

Fishing with family or buds?

Live bait, artificial or both?

What will be your beverage of choice?

Feel free to add any other brief information you'd like to add. :happy1:

I was hoping I could find some help here. I am coming to Minn. next week for a few days from Michigan, and will be staying in Lake Crystal.  I was curious if there are any open trout waters in the area.  I am having trouble finding maps on the dnr website that make it real cut and dry for me. From what I gather you guys have a spring catch and release season. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Definately looking forward to the trip. I have never been to Minn. Thanks in advance
Jamie

Hopefully some of the southern boys will chime in, because all I know about is the Duluth area trout fishing. If not, I'll see what I can dig up when I get home.

I would try to look up any fishing guides in the area to see if they could answer some of your questions.

Looks like L. Crystal is only 10 ft. deep. Unless they have aerators' it would be a freeze out lake.

Hang in there someone here may still be able to help ya :happy1:

Looks like the closest trout stream to the town of lake crystal, is seven mile creek  located northeast of town. It runs between hwy 99 to hwy 169 (southwest of Saint Peter )

I'm on my phone now, but if you go on the mndnr website, you can find trout streams closest to you. The one I seen was map 29 found here: http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/fishing/trout_streams/south_mn_maps.html

Here are the trout reg's for 2015: http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/fishmn/regs.html?section=definitions&topic=trout
