I moved to big lake and don't want to drive the 50 miles back to where I had a field. Been looking in this area for a month an had the door slammed on me more times then I would like to admit. I might just have to make the drive if I can't find a area

Since I have cut my hay field, there has been 75 to 150 geese landing per day. It should be a fun shoot tomorrow!  :fudd:

I agree, should be a great shoot, don't forget the bug spray, man are the skeeters bad right now! Lots of young geese this year, been watching one field I have lined up,small grain (harvested),its about 100 acres and it loads up at the crack of dawn,3,4 maybe 500 birds, unlike later in the season these birds spread out, bunch here bunch there all over the board, its like they stick to they're family groups, keep others away.

I know I'll have a couple family groups ready to make friends tomorrow morning... :happy1:

Dropped off 22 pounds at the meat shop to have made into summer sausage.  Half, pepper garlic, and the other half, pepper jack cheese.  :happy1:

The boy has to go to work early,  so we only hunted a few hours with 4 more on the ground. Would have had more, but I had a gun jam. Which helped him get caught up. We are tied at 7 a piece.

Suppose all the smack I was talking to him, karma had to step in....  :rotflmao:

Haha HD,KARMA has its way forsure....Saturday was quick in area as well, did'nt here shots but then I was in circus mode from the get go,had a cou-ple waves come dumping in to my spread of 12 mangnum shell dekes,in my hayst satuday morning when my huntin buddy was a no show I grabed a box of pheasant loads, did'nt realize it until I dropped a pair and when my pup Duce went out to retrieve they got up and flew away 2.75 #6's, switched to 3" duces done in 10 minutes, had birds coming in with my truck in the field, great morning....

Oh,and the therma cell was a life saver as the skeeters were thick.

The bad thing, is that I still have geese landing...and can't shoot um. I'm at my possession limit, and my freezer is full!

Well....maybe not a bad thing.....

Deer hunting is coming up..dang I need a bigger freezer....

Sounds like good times.  I didn't hunt them but did see a few flocks flying around at my cabin.
