spent Friday and last night in my new used mini blind. Spooked a grouse walking to my spot the first night. Heard a grouse kick up about 1/2 hour before dark but no deer. I get to my spot Saturday eve. Right where I go into the woods on the dirt road a deer came out since I had been there and it was the biggest track I have ever seen. I took a pic next to my boot to reference it and I will send it to boar and maybe he can post it here. Man did that track pump me up even though it was going away from where I go in. Just before my blind are two rubs and a scrape.  Sure is shi he was there at some time between 730pm Friday eve to 3pm Saturday eve as he just ravaged the other side of the tree. I can see the rub from my blind. It was so quiet in the woods last night but again no deer. Right now the plan is to hunt it again Wed Thursday Friday.

Had to call off the hunt....

I had 2 deer, one fawn and one doe bolt by me. I look down the trail, from where they came. ...here comes some jackass walking down the trail towards me....sees me and cuts South.
SO, I call the boy to try and cut him off...no luck.
I get back to the house and drive over to the closest neighbors....and here this ass wipe is standing. I told him he was trespassing....he's like "I knew you rifle hunted, but didn't know you bow hunted"  :doah:

Long story short....after I chewed him out, he said it won't happen again.....yea right....friggin meth heads....

I think the message I would have left with him would have been a bit more clearer! If you come on my land again I will be calling the law. If I see you again-I will be the Law!  :police:   He must have been casing you out a bit to "know you rifle hunted"  But not well enough to know you Bow hunted?

Dental floss trip wire. Run yer camo stick over it. Shotgun shell with primer and powder but no load. Sunk level vertically on path. Snap pin on primer, floss strung 2' in front of shell in direction of travel.= *BOOM* when floss is tripped.  Love the recon trick training. Works every time. See Dick run. Run, Dick, Run.   ;)

At one point, I did have my hand around his throat, but didn't want to give details....

In a different stand tonight, not much moving so far. One doe and a fawn walked by.....

Last hunt of vacation last night.  Light drizzle put me in my dad's popup blind.  I had a doe and her twins come by with 20 min of shooting time left.  With 5 min of shooting light left I see my number 2 buck make a scrape 50 yards away.  He took forever.  By the time he walks by on the same trail as the doe I couldn't see my pins.  Ugh. Hopefully dad gets him.  He deserves a nice buck.  Here are a few picture.

Well looking at your pics of 1 and 2  :deer:. I should look into a trail cam instead of posting a pic of a track  :bonk: although that sure is a big track

This is my number 1 buck. He has been around sense September he had another big buck with him this season but haven't had that one on camera sense September so I'm sure this big 10 pushed him out. My only issue is there is 4 stands that I could sit in. One by the food plot where I have recent pictures of him. This picture is of him by our pond coming out of the swamp. Where he follows a trail up the middle of the woods. I have a stand there. Then the trail slightly Y"s. One way leads to my other camera that has a stand 100 yards away and if he takes the Trail to the right it goes to my food plot where I have another stand about 100 yards away. Both the swamp and the top part of our property are bedding areas.

So? Is anybody still bow hunting? I have been going, but the woods have been quiet. Plenty of new tracks around, but they must only be moving at night. Gone nocturnal because of rifle season I suppose. Tonight will be my final bow hunt for the season. I'll be trading it for a muzzle loader, after that, I'll be done for the year.  :Deer:

I'm still planning on doing some bow hunting.  Remember the season ends on December 31st.  My son and I went on December 31, 2015 and saw a bunch of deer between 3 pm and dark.  Don't give up just yet.

I'm with deadeye, don't give up yet. Took my kids counting deer Saturday December 10th left at 4:00PM sharp, we/they counted 68 deer in legal light, saw no muzzy or archery hunters of course. My buddies used to blame the orange army until I moved to a new farm and called their bluff. They blame the orange army but the truth is they don't like bowhunting in colder temps is more so the true answer then they're all scared by rifle hunters. So Sunday PM watched my cornfield and there were 17 deer and plenty in easy bow range of my stand so I invited those 3 jokers over cmon, deer out every night by 4:00PM come on over and or I can get you on a few other farms that have plenty out before dark, no response even, then a few days later came the usual ramblings. Sure these temps are punishing for anyone without heat but it was still mild enough but the boys would rather complain then try to make it happen, they like easy mild camo hunts.
