Finally, a video that demonstrates what can happen when you pee on a buck scrape.
I guarantee that this is not the first time you’ve heard this idea. The first time I did, I thought my friend was messing with me. Then again, the logic makes sense: the buck that made the scrape might want to assert dominance. Or, it might smell me out as a human and not come back.

Well, that turned out to be a little inconclusive. Personally, I think the reaction from the first buck is what I would focus on. Although the deer didn’t leave the area, something definitely spooked it. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I make it a habit to try not to let any deer know I’m in the area. I’ll let you decide what to do the next time you see a scrape, but as for me, I will be peeing elsewhere.

well what im see is, the first buck came in a few hours after that guys spread pee, even thou he was a scent free as possible im sure, I feel he left residual scent at that spot, the buck didnt get any closer than his spot wher he stood. thermals at night go low and will keep scent from dispersing. the next buck didnt spook, but it was an entire day between the first and 2nd buck which would give the hunters scent time to dissolve from the area. and the scent being able to disperse that quickly would be from the hunter taking precautions to his scent, he would have work up a sweat walikng in, humidity can hold it. I think pee is just pee and is associated with the scent of the animal/human that left it. how can one leave pee without leaving scent behind. impossible.

I use my empty beer cans to rattle them in and it works wonders.

I take a empty laundry detergent container to pee in while in the stand and dump it later.  I have to use a extra large container.  good luck.
