I walk to work everyday, from my house to my shop in rural northern MN.

Inside the shop, I restore and modify classic cars and trucks for my customer's.

posting on this site from a phone can take a trick or two, ive an android, and what works is to first take the picture you want to upload to the site and downsize it, the save it to your gallery. most pics that are taken by the fone are to big, ya basicly have to bring it in alittle left and right an up and down.  plus it up loads faster if you do 1 pic at a time, sucks but most times 2 pics dont go thru.

Sweet I  wrote a whole little spew about my painting days last night and must of not hit post. OOPS   Worked at herniate auto restoration for 12 years before I hurt my back.  I loved painting cars, have pics of a lot of them but that was way before cell phones. A lot of the restoration got a skim coat of bondo to make them straight and then primed and blocked with 180 twice. I We used a lot of acrylic enamel. I could get the metallics down perfect . No striping, mottling, etc. never liked the base coat clear coat system as the metalics never laid out the same. wow does tthis bring back memory's. The pick boar posted for me is one of the first cars a did some painting on

Hi cookie, yeah you and me can definitely speak the same language on this topic, lol.

I'm blocking body filler on a 58 plymouth right now as my one other employee is working on blasting some 69 ranchero parts in the blast cabinet.

The plymouth, I had to make body panels for as none were available.

area below the black line to be replaced with hand made panel.

flat paper pattern transferred to flat sheet steel.

A pile of work later....

I use polyester primers on some of these projects, it's like a sprayed skim coat of body filler.

Most times I have 3 sessions of prime/block before I'm ready for a color package.

Very nice!

I restored old tractors, and still squirt paint once in awhile....

I did restore a 1940 Studebaker, used lead for filler cause that's the way they used to do it.

Keep up the good work!

OK, NOW I know who you are!!! I recognized some of your pics from elsewhere. You are truly an amazing fabricator for lack of a better term. With some of these old cars, that's all one can do. :surrender:

Boar, I own three old cars.  Two 1968 Chevelles and a 1967 Dodge Polara.
My youngest son turned one into a drag car. It's a beautiful orange and
goes way too fast.  He didn't run last year by the year before he just
squeaked into an 8 second car.  Not bad for an all steel and glass car.
The green one is just a driver car. Nothing too special just fun to have.
The Polara was my dads and all original and has never been restored or repaired. It's
currently just the way it came from the factory 50 years ago.  I drive it once in a while.

A polar bear!!!! My car thru high school was a '67 2 door  Polara, (aka the polar  bear) , that I body worked and painted root beer brown with clear coat...383 magnum 4 bbl with duals, and Thrush glasspacks. Later put some BF Goodrich radial T/A's on 'er,  wrapped around AFX chrome slots..... ;) Me getting hit broadside by a choo-choo train in my senior year killed the polar bear.

ND,I recognized the brown mopar from another place. BIL is the car nut in our family. They have a cherry 70 Chevelle, an old roadster that looks just like the 1 in American Graffitti, & his current project is a 69 GTO. What happened to glenn? er Scrooge ;D

Gunner, I built that brown 69 road runner for me and my wife. I found it as a numbers matching project car. I put it back to it's original color with white vinyl top, we loved that car.

Funny thing happened.

We just finished it when we received a phone call from a member of a group effort that was on the hunt for that car. We had it for around 3 years which is how long it took to restore it (part time project)

Well, the original owner of this car had been actively searching for the car for about 7 years. It was also his first car, his high school car...

They pulled at my heart strings and I agreed to sell the car back to the gentleman from Iowa.

We are friends now, exchange x-mas cards, he sends me txt messages with pictures of the car at car shows, with trophies. :)

That car is in the right place now, I am still glad to have had a part in the reunion of a man and his first car.
