So my friends tease me about living on the Canadian Border and do I ever see people fleeing across the river.  Some want a key to the door that will be at my dock when they build the wall here.  Once the Border Patrol stopped on their snowmobiles and asked me if I ever see people crossing on the ice.....   lol  I said going which direction....   :rotflmao:  They just smiled, put their helmets back on and took off.   Well the gist of this is that the Fargo Forum today said that 40 people were caught trying to illegally enter Manitoba last week at Pembina.  182 people have been caught since Jan 1.  So I wonder what they will make the wall out of and will it be in the middle of the river???  Will Canada pay for it???

The paper said that Manitoba has not released the info on Nationalities and ages yet.  But they did say they feel it is due to the Trump immigration issues.  It seems to have started around Jan 1 too.

I read something on this, it's been going on for a while but it's been getting more and more especially the brave ones in the winter, losing digits to frost bite.  Not much law can do here until they hit the border. Sounds like it's mainly foreign folk...see ya! Canada's problem now.

I can tell you that I have crossed into Canada a number of times using a "remote boarder pass" and never have been stopped.....

I also have heard of the migration to Canada because of the de-portation scare....How in the heck are they going to catch them on the water, let alone build a wall?

I also heard, that the Prime Minister of Canada is excepting the Syrian refuges that are being turned back from the United States.... What is going to stop them from migrating south?

Yes  it is so easy to cross the Canadian Border.  The Rainy is not that big of a deal to swim across or walk in the winter.  The rest of Canada to the west is a walk from a road but not near what it is to walk a desert in Mexico and southern US. I can see this border being the "new" place to cross.

I always was confused when I was in my 20's and the town I grew up in, some of the churches "adopted" people from other countries.  It was a nice thing to do but I was working my ass off and new to my trade so wasn't making squat and could barely afford rent, car, ins., food, beer, etc. I really couldn't afford to even ask a girl out on a decent date. These adopted families were given new cars, housing, jobs, food, ins., etc.  They had it made and I felt kind of offended by that.  I saw their kids in their teens driving around enjoying life which is ok to a point.  I always hoped they appreciated that they were given more than my country gave me.

I absolutely agree 100% with this, and always have. Exactly the way I felt and DO feel. Why where they helping these people in some little far off country?? Go down to places like the coal country of Virginia and Appalachia areas, and help them!!! Solid poverty and hardship down there, you didn't need to go to another country to find someone to help, for chrissakes!!!!!!! That still bugs the sh** outta me about these churches, and to answer the question above, harboring one of those people is ILLEGAL AS HELL.

On one of our recent trips to the BWCA we encountered the US forest service that checks for your permit. That year he had 2 U.S. Boarder patrol guys with him. At that point we were about one block from the Canadian boarder. That was the first time we ever encountered U.S. boarder patrol up there on the water.

👍  Agree boys. Plenty of people to help right here at home. I wouldn't consider my self a religious man, but do belong and attend on occasion. The big business end of Church is what bothers me. Besides, I'm much closer to God in the woods than I ever will be in the church. However, getting back on topic, last Sunday the kids had to sing at Church so we went to service. When we walked in the sanctuary the seats are all covered with quilts made by the ladies of the church. Talking 40-50 of them. So instead of sending them away to some foreign place a couple go to a graduating senior to take to school and the rest to people in need right here in our county. I liked that!

Bad part about that area Lee is none of the ones we want to leave have the ambition to leave From the BWCA.
And most that would have the ambition to come in through BWCA would pry be hardworking folk that would contribute to society. 😁

Those asylum seekers going to Canada might be in for a shock.   As I understand it, if their application is rejected, they get sent back to their country of origin, not to the US.

PS~Once trudue gets the bill for sending these folks back to their country of origin,he'll quickly reverse course and send them back here and tell trump he's building a wall and the U.S. will pay for it.

                                                     :coffee:

Let's take a look at this scenario.

                                     Legal vs Illegal

                                                                :oops1:

Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes $25.00 per hour with taxes deducted.

Jose Illegal also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number, and gets paid $15.00 cash "under the table".

Ready? Now pay attention....

Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or $52,000.00 per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax; Joe Legal now has $31,231.00.

Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or $31,200.0 0 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for his family at $600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $24,031.00.

Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and local clinics and emergency hospitals at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or welfare. Joe Legal pays $500.00 per month for food, or $6,000.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $18,031.00.

Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps, WIC and welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month, or $14,400.00 per year. Joe Legal now has 9,631 ..00.

Jose Illegal receives a $500.00 per month Federal Rent Subsidy. Jose Illegal pays out that $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $ 31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month, or $2,400.00 for car insurance. Some of that is uninsured motorist insurance. Joe Legal now has $7,231.00.

Jose Illegal says, "We don't need no stinkin' insurance!" and still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc..

Jose Illegal has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, and what he sends out of the country every month..

Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.

Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.

Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same elementary school.

Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches, while

Jose Illegal's children get a government sponsored lunch.

Jose Illegal's children have an after school ESL program.

Joe Legal's children go home.

Now, when they reach college age,

Joe Legal's kids may not get into a State School and may not qualify for scholarships, grants or other tuition help, even though Joe has been paying for State Schools through his taxes, while

Jose Illegal's kids "go to the head of the class" because they are a minority.

Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay.

Do you get it, now? :bonk:

If you vote for or support any politician that supports illegal aliens... You are part of the problem! :taz:
