Cutfoot on Winnie Get together Feb16-18th

A bunch of us are getting together on Feb 16-18th on Lake Winnie, this is an open invitation for all MNO members and family too.

This will be a family type event, so bring your kids too.

Date: Feb 16th, 17th and 18th

Time : Friday evening to Sunday evening

Place: Cutfoot on Lake Winnie

I will be supplying food and beverages (pop), all you will need to bring is your personal fishing gear, and any personal food or beverages that you may need. Friday evening you will need to have your own food, but Saturday will have 3 free meals provided and Sunday we will have breakfast and lunch provided. Bring your own liquor or beer.

You will also need to have your own sleeping arrangements (fish houses or motel) If you have any spare room in your fish house, we have a few who are looking for beds still.

If you plan on making it to the get together, please let us know by Sunday February 11th. I need to have an accurate count for providing food.

Wish I could make it to this but with the shoulder in a sling still from surgery I ain't no good for fishing... Winni is and has been on my list of lakes to hit but I always just pass it up.

Yoga, ODL, Woody, Woodchuck, Desperado, Wyofish? This will be a great time again, free food, fishing and meeting other people.

So far, I believe there is about 10 of us. Everyone is welcome.

So far we are definitely short on beds. Hopefully we can come up with 3-4 more houses soon.

I do have a bed for the night, but I'd be willing to share a cabin with a few others, that might help the situation.

Might be nice to have a cabin anyways, a place to cook and eat. Anyone know of a cabin or resort on Cutfoot.

I just checked the availibility on a sleeper fish house for the weekend.

We can get 1 8x16 sleeper house for 4 people at $160 per night.

That would be $80 per person from Friday night til Sunday evening.

Anyone interested? We would need to reserve this by tomorrow, to make sure we are in.

I will be supplying the majority of the food for the weekend (not just hot dogs) The menu will consist of.....

forgot to respond to your post last night abought the sleeper house sounds like a good deal. don't know how much a motel room is might be more.

The problem with a motel room is they get all upset when you drill holes in the floor and set up your rattle reels for the night!

As far as my being able to make it, put me down as a no/maybe.  My best friend of 32 years is coming up to visit from Fort Sill.  He's done 2 tours in Iraq, and is now training new troops.  Depending on his arrival, it may be possible we all come up for the day (Saturday).  As soon as I know something concrete I'll let you know!  Man it sounds like it'd be a blast!

I put in my order for the burgers today, I really need to have a head count from everyone attending, so if you are coming to the event, please post here with your count.

I'm not expecting a whole lot of people to be here, this was put together at the last minute and Eelpout fest is the same weekend, so far I believe we are around 15 people, but I still need everyones names asap.

I talked with Joel from JR's Tackle yesterday, he is planning on coming up friday night, but has to leave on Saturday.

The plan is to pull the trailer up and load it up with JR's product, he would be handing out tackle and showing off everything to our guests. The trailer walls have corkboard for hanging tackle and product, sort of an on road store. This is still being discussed though, I'm wondering if it would be worth the trouble, since a lot of people may not show up til Saturday, this is why it is so important to let us know if your planning on this get together, and the planning of the food too.

Please speak up now if you are planning on coming.

We'll be out of Highbanks. I thought you were heading to Pout Fest? Come on over if you can, we should be easy to find.

I was thinking maybe you could notify everyone who was coming either in a pm or in this post as to where exactly you'll be.  Myself, I just found out last night it was going to be out of Highbanks.  So that gets me in the ballpark-but I'd rather have a map or directions to homeplate.

3.9 miles to the north northwest of highbanks.
you can access there and take there road out to the rentals but they arent quite halfway out.
there are no roads really. we have been driving all over the lake except to the east around off of tamarack point. there is a pressure ridge that runs northwest to the gap going into cutfoot.
--a long ways from where we are going to be.
then there is another pressure ridge on the south side of the lake down by denny's resort.
we are just going out in between them. you probably wont even see either one of them.

for those coming from deer river, take hiway 46 north to the gosh dam place(restaraunt-bar) and turn left(west) and go past the dam and the resorts there by the dam.
go to highbanks road, which is on your right.
take that in about 3 miles to highbanks resort on the left. get your road pass and follow my lake instructions.

Here is my plan.....

I'm working on Friday the 16th, so I'll be leaving right after work. Everything will be loaded in the car on Thursday evening, i'm guessing I should be on the road around 5pm, this should get me up to Winnie around 8pm or so. I may be able to leave earlier, but it depends on the jobs i have that day.

Assuming I arrive at 8pm, i'll unload, setup and fish for the evening, on Saturday morning, I am planning a run over to Pout Fest for a few hours, maybe leave winnie around 10am and get back in time for lunch around 3pm.

I have allready ordered the burgers and hot dogs, so i just have to hit the grocery store this week for the rest of the food. Unless I hear different, I am planning on buying food for 15 people, enough to feed everyone the entire weekend.

I will be driving the small car to save on gas, so I will be full with the coolers, fishing gear and my personal bags. We need a couple grills, tables and a canopy, if you have room, please let us know if you can bring anything.
