http://wtip.org/moose-hunt-returns-northeastern-minnesota-2017   Our moose population in in danger but that doesn't mean anything to the tribe.  DNR thinks it's ok to harvest 40 bull moose but yet they changed some deer areas up north because they think the moose are in danger.  Tribe say's it's their right,  but does killing moose that are in danger right?  Are the tribes suffering from hunger?  Plenty of deer then if that was the case.  I think they do this because they can, they call it tradition or whatever else they want to call it.  I call it pure greed.  good luck.

We pay to save the moose with studies and regulation ect. , yet the tribe take's the fruit if any, of the moose population.  It's just makes no sense at all.  We are showing no gain in the population at all for a variety of reasons and just love it when we see a couple of young moose in the spring up north hoping they survive the wilds without hunting.  Looks like any young moose we gain if any are destroyed by these tribe's that are selfish and care nothing about the wildlife.  Why are the indians given the exclusive right to Casinos?  Where is that in the treaty?  This is just plain insane.  good luck.

The tribes fleece the state out of all gambling revenues forever.
Ziggy fleeces state taxpayers into paying for his new stadium.

It is sad that our elected officials are sooooo gutless and naive.

It seems to me the "alleged minorities" are the ones that raise a lot of the ruckus and trouble. Pretty soon, I'll be a minority here in CAWchester, the way this town is going. Then I can parade around and raise all sorts of hell, and when a cop tries to stop me, I can holler "it's because I'm white, isn't it???!"

Well, that got me some smites...wish ya wouldn't hide in the weeds about it. It's the damned truth in this town.

I just did. My smite was spelled "like".  As in 80's Valley Girls.... "like....like"......;) I just think all that "like" BS is too much "like" Facebook or snatchchat or whatever they're called. I mean the "karma" + or - thing.  "Liking" a post is OK. It's the publically displayed negative dislikes that got a certain other site all riled up and fighting like a buncha teenage girls. Ask me, I had to moderate all the PM's. And I still left Glenn in one piece. *sigh*    :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Welp, I can honestly tell you that NOBODY on this site can view p.m.'s on this site other than the sender & receiver..... so if the"other" site was able to do that..... that's an invasion of privacy!

No, they couldn't view PM's HD...they trashed people in the open! As a Mod, They'd PM me about so and so...... : It got so nasty, it wasn't funny. Then the Mods started in on each other in the "Mods back room"... :doah: :censored:  I'm pretty sure there isn't one of us who wouldn't get another's back on here. Here, ya can have a good time, and we all respect each other. I've even E-mailed Delmar about meat sales, so he can get all soused up and giddy.   :rotflmao: :rotflmao:  :rotflmao:

That's good to hear Rebs.....

Back on track..... I have had my own personal run in's with the "tribe" so I am NOT a person to be objective when it comes to them.

I recall being egged by some of them when I protested next to Bud Grant back in the day.....and spending some time in a "Res" jail that didn't turn out in my favor.....(sitting around a campfire story)

So, I am biased in my appraisal of the tribe, and bite my tongue.

But, I will say this..... I believe that ALL people should be created and treated equal.... whether you were born green, yellow, white, black or purple....as long as you pull your own weight, and don't expect special privileges and think I "owe" you something....work hard like the rest of us.....yur OK in my book.

(Kicks the soap box to the side)

Dat's the key...."Don't expect special privileges"', and "Pull yer own weight".  I see entirely the opposite here, with a lot, not all, what with all the rallies and demonstrations in this town that (whoever) isn't "treated equally", and expecting everything. I went to school with a Navajo Indian buddy, Danny Sullivan. Came from a family of twelve. Hard working, every one of them. They didn't have much, but they all came to school every day and graduated. His cousin Dave, however, was a different story. Drunk, fighter, thief, etc. ALWAYS brought into the ER drunk and combative as hell by the cops. When I was on duty at Mayo, the ER was my area I was in charge of. They'd call for Security STAT when Dave got drug in, and he'd invariably end up kicking the crap out of some of them. Biggest compliment for me, was when they said to him ''We'll call Security", he's always holler  :censored: ! "Better be sure it's Mark, he's OK"!  I was the only one that could deal with him. I treated him as an equal, and I never regretted it. Some of the people there made some nasty comments about him, and treated him the same, but I never did.
I had a great time with Dan at our 40th reunion a couple years ago, and he said Dave is still at it......

Anywho, just depends on the person, I guess....like HD said.   BUT, this moose bit..... :mad1:

I had a question so I read the article.  The 40 moose are going to be harvested completely by indians.  None by white man.  Screw that.  If we can't fish or hunt on the res they shouldn't be able to hunt or fish off the res.  AND these politicians do need to grow a set and start turning this around.  I had someone on here say that if we make a state run casino that we have to give some of the profits to the indians.  I read that last article on it that someone posted and we can have a casino and don't have to pay them out of our profits.  We just need to do it to get this going.  They have way too much money without paying taxes and are being arrogant about all of these "rights" they have.

Every one of us that feels as we do need to email our areas Reps and let them know we are fed up with all of this BS.  It will take awhile but we need to get it going.  I will contact Collin Peterson on Sun or Mon.  There is a map and their emails online.  Just look it up.  That is the only way to get this going.

If the ability to hunt moose is tied up into the treaty rights (similar to the walleye fiasco on Mille Lacs), the federal courts have decided and the tribes have the upper hand.

So how about the lawmakers put moose on the endangered species list and take the wolves off.

I should of read the whole article.  I was already pizzed off when I saw 40 moose allowed to be killed.  But I looked it over more and I see there will be more than 40 killed.  24 more can be killed by the poor and starving Fond du Lac Band [they own a casino up there].  The poor and starving Grand Portage and Bois Forte  members can take another 18 I see as well.  Wonderful,   we don't want those poor starving souls  to suffer.  good luck.
