Important Safety Recall
Check yer extinguishers, guys...especially important this time of year. All my four were OK.....

It didn't take long to get our replacements but that was a year ago.It was the 4 newest that we had put in the new place up here.

I re-checked mine, did find two on the list, but no date code on them. Online fill in stuff won't accept without a date code; guess I'll have to call 'em.  :rolleyes:

As long as you have the model number and the serial number, you don't need the date code.

But, the online "fill in" site says "Unable to accept, date code must be filled in"......tried 3 times.   :angry:

I just had to put in the models and serial numbers.... and it said that I'd be receiving replacements with information on what to do with the recalled ones.

We made sure they were empty & the salvage yard in Cohassett took them. It looks like the extinguishers we got on the earlier recall might be included in this 1. need to look closer.

They guy who services ours at work said to shoot them in the bottom third of the can as they are standing up.  Then the stuff is right where you hit it.

They sent me two more, got 'em yday....!!!! With steel brackets...Now I have four new ones to replace TWO old ones.....I requested new plastic straps, because they were broken. Instead they send two more extinguishers.  Now I have to send back the OTHER NEW ones they sent to replace the recalled ones  :doofus: I'm not sure if they even know what's going on, what a mess! Only good thing is the second batch of new ones are the Pro 1 model, bigger, heavy-duty, that is all steel and refillable....a big plus.

Thanks Rebs.  I have 3 more that I am checking now.  White one FA5G, and another FA110G.  Glad you posted this.  3 of my 4 Extinguishers are bad ones.  I have one real nice one with metal bracket Amerex A417.  That is the only one of mine not recalled.
