I've been busy making desserts for big family gathering up north dere in St Paul.
First two... peanut patch cake and no corn. Syrup pecan pie.  Niece is sensitive to corn.

And second pair, chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, gonna sprinkle with some crushed candy canes.  Cake and frosting from scratch...  didn't care for the pumpkin cake so it is off the menu.   And a key lime pie

We will be at our niece's.   Looks like might be mid 30's for attendance so need plenty food.  Champagne and turkeys etc are someone else's responsibility.   My daughter bakes a variety of rolls to go with it.  Others bring apps and sides etc.

Seems a little heavy on the chocolate, but not the best time of year for fruit so I guess it will have to be ok.   No fresh berry tart this time.  Easter more likely.

I'll be working at Wal-Mart till 6 p.m.  Cathy's flipping me the bird shortly after that.  Serving me some turkey too!  My Vision Center's closed for the day, so I'll be working in the main store.  If it's a typical Thanksgiving, by the time I get out of there, I'll need a gallon or  two of Jim Beam and a Quaalude the size of a garbage can lid.

Hope you all have a happy thanksgiving!

Nice looking spread there del!

The kids are coming home for turkey day....we have 20 pounds of sodak wild bird we are cooking in the pressure cooker....we don't have much for pies, but we do have some stuffing and GREEN BEAN casserole to share! Also, I have a few jugs of Dakids grandmothers dandelion wine to serve with it....so we will be good!

We ALL have something to be thankful for....even if it's just breathing....you ALL have a special place in someones heart....and I for one, am glad you are here to share on MNO! So, in passing someone, wish them a happy holiday, and give if you can...it warms the heart, because there are folks with less than we have....even if it's just companionship....
