I of course have my website:  www.lindellicerigs.com  The person that did the site for me has worked with me for many years.  When I need something changed I just email her and she does it at her leisure.  Has worked great.  Every so often she sends me a bill and I pay it.  I don't think she is a computer nerd like she used to be.  She has kids now so I am sure she is busier than she used to be.  My question is:  can anyone look at my website and tell what software she was using?  I am wondering if I can get it and do it my self?  OR do I need to start over with a new web person?

I looked at it LPS....
You would have to get that information from her.
It's not listed on yours or hers.

Yup, I pulled hers off of your website.

Are planning on changing the look of yours?
Most sites have a type of control panel.... do you have access to it?

I want to add some new Dealers and take off a couple of them.  It is a common task.  Do it every year.  Also need to fix the Contact Us deal.  People are having a hard time trying to use it.

I can do that stuff for you....
Just need access.... I would think that if you own the site, you have some sort of admin privileges? Unless, she has it locked up so she just has access. Then, you are at the mercy of her company.

Making changes are easy to to do, if you have the permissions.

I own the site and pay the annual fee for it right to the company that I go through.  Not through her.    I will try to call her again.

Yup, usually you pay domain fees and hosting fees together if you're server and domain are with the same company.

Mno has a different domain company, and an different hosting company (server) because of cost. So, it's 2 separate bills.

The hosting company should have a backup of your site, and have a control panel type of admin access for changes.

The last time MNO crashed, was because the server got hacked and we didn't have access to server files in the event that the server crashed.

So, long story short.... always make sure you have a backup copy somewhere of your site, and can move it in the event that your hosting server crashes.

I left here 3 messages yesterday and she finally called me back.  I have been trying to contact her for 2 months.  She just had another kid.  We had a nice talk and she did all of the updates I wanted.  She apologized and said no charge.  I said I will be pissed if she doesn't bill me for it.  I am so glad it all turned out for the good.  Thanks for the advice HD.

Yup, no problem.... need anything else, just ask.

But, I would still get a backup copy in your hands in case something catastrophic happens.
