It's all those Iowegian farmers that moved up here to grow corn!  ;) That's 50% of the reason I sold my boat, and this is the first year of my life I haven't been out fishing...where is there to go around here?! The Scumbro? Lake Pepin, the Dead Sea? MississiPEE.......NOT!! Ya gotta drive at least 110 miles to get near anything decent, that's what I did when I ice fished, drive up north for the day; drive back at nite. That gets old (and expensive) REAL fast.  :angry:

I can understand the shallow southern lakes in farming country,  but what's up with the northern part of the state being polluted?

Iron mines!! I dunno, what I've read in Big River magazine, which I subscribe to, is that it's from algae is rapidly forming in the waters of the northern (Forest lakes, as they are called) lakes. Seems they are unsure why....

Maybe having spiny waterfleas and stuff like that makes it polluted in their methods.
