Dunno.... I stood on the picket line with Bud Grant, as the natives drove by throwing eggs....

Yea, me and casinos? NOT gonna happen!

Bud Grant, that guy from Wisconsin that helped torpedo the DNR deal with the indians and led the fight to the Supreme Court that MN lost, all because of the mess that Wisconsin made of their dealings with the Indians.

As for Mille Lacs, read the report of the Blue Ribbon commission.

No 80's big hair band fan here! First concert I ever seen was the Allman Bros., my junior year of highschool in St.Paul, think it was about a year(72?) after Duane died in the bike accident. Been a southern rock / classic rock guy since. Seen too many of the big hair bands live & most didn't impress me too much.

If you guys like southern rock you could move up 50 years or so and try some new music. Look up Blackberry Smoke and Whiskey Myers.

And The Jompson Brothers.

From Fox News...

http://www.fox9.com/news/lawsuit-over-pop-up-club-at-mystic-lake-dropped

Willie Hardacker, general legal counsel for Dakota Febraury Events, released the following statement regarding the dropped lawsuit.

“We are pleased Nomadic voluntarily dismissed the federal lawsuit. The court rightfully had concerns about whether it had jurisdiction over this dispute. Dakota February Events, LLC has claims against Nomadic, and we will pursue those over the coming weeks.”

So Nomadic is SOL for dealing with a "sovereign" nation where the laws of the United States of America don't apply.  Still, to cover their  :moon: s, Mystic Lake creates an Limited Liability Corporation (Dakota February Events) and they will turn around and sue Nomadic in those same courts.

Of course, that is just Mystic's side of the story.

The Mystic Lake tribe provides more money, assistance and equipment to the County and surrounding area than you probably know.

maybe so but most likely from federal funds just like the BIM,guess where they're money comes from and the BIM trucks you'll see driving around on rez land.? and yes its a well known fact the tribes put $$$$ into the dem's coffers, lets see last year mille lacs alone donated over $3m that we know of.

Further you should see the funding they get from our state tax payers,"million's" for heathercare, schools and education for starters, mostly grants from what I read

The money they use to donate to area charities or buy fire trucks that they support surrounding communities with doesn't come from any federal funds as far as I know. It comes from gambling profits.

My guess is you don't really know any facts of why Mystic terminated the project or if they had a contract that allowed for termination but because Indians are involved you took a stance against them.
