That's great news, having him and Smith back would be huge. Any word on Darrisaw?

Darrisaw probably won't be back until next year IMO. KO'C said yday that Smith should be able to get through enough practice this week so he can play Sunday too.

:happy1: https://www.dailynorseman.com/2024/12/24/24328898/andrew-van-ginkel-nfc-defensive-player-of-the-week-minnesota-vikings  Pace has been designated to return from IR too. So, as long as he doesn't get hurt in practice today or tomorrow he will play Sunday.  :dancinred:

I am still baffled that Vegas had the Vikes at 6.5 wins this year.  Easy money.

Yeah, I thought Akers was going to fall down before the ball even got to him on that 1. GB scored & made it 20-10 after Darnold threw that pick but the Vikes only needed 8 plays to go 70 yards for a TD the next time they got the ball & I loved seeing that too.

LPS 6.5 wins was being generous. Darnold had been a bust and NOBODY knew that the Vikings could straighten him out. Without Darold they might be a 5 win team.

Also the Vikings hit big on those defensive free agents. Flores has used them perfectly.

A lot of things have gone right for the Vikings this year to make it such a fun season.

They need to find a way to keep these guys together,  even Flores next yr.

I’m not a great football mind, but I think that’s got to include Darnold, if he agrees to it and they can keep everyone else happy within the cap. McCarthy may have lots of promise, but you can’t argue with success. Play whoever deserves to be in on any given week. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

The QB could get injured so easily so having 2 makes a lot of sense to me.

So was this last game against the Lions always planned to be Sunday night or did the flex it to that?

Flexed. I like the night games. That keeps me free to spend Sunday afternoons doing something outside.

I think it was originally set for noon.  I like noon or 3 but 7 is too late for my liking.

Unless the staff sees something we don't,  I just don't see them trading away the future franchise QB.

Anybody remember Teddy Bridgewater? Things happen fast in the NFL.

Darnold has shown what he can do with this team & is just 27. So, he could still easily play another 6-8 years. I too, hope they keep them both but I wouldn't be all that surprised if that's not how it turns out. I believe KO'C & his group are still high on McCarthy but some team could make an offer that's hard to turn down too.
