I've said before I don't think Flores is going anywhere. He has issues and owners bye & large don't like issues.

I can't imagine anyone wanting the Jets job.  They are screwed up from owners on down the tree.

KO'C on the guy who has had 2 interviews with Seattle for their OC job.......................................O’Connell said about the up-and-coming coach months back via Star Tribune, “He’s got such an unbelievable understanding, from his background on offense and defense, and his sheer football stamina is something I really admire. I joke with him all the time, ‘Nobody loves football like you, man.’ His mind never really wanders from it.

I think you need to live & breath football 24 / 7/ 365 to make it in the NFL. That said if you do make it and you don't burn out it seems you can stay around as long as you like providing you don't mind moving from city to city. The money is good but your personal life would take a pounding I would think.

College football is like that too - and apart from the biggest schools, the pay isn't as good and you have to move more.

the stuff i read/heard it sounds like KOC may have more to say with team, players, etc and there may be somewhat of a riff between the GM and KOC!

also read if Flores stays, and all the pending FA, Flores is going to be a big part of who the resign/ cut loose and go after in free agents!

Yeah, its hard to know the source or validity of stress between KO'C and KA-M.  Those two have shown themselves to be nothing but professionals this whole time, and if there is any disagreement between them, you have to believe they've kept it to themselves behind closed doors.  Basically, I'm not going to believe it until the Wilfs announce some sort of change.  It doesn't mean it isn't real, but I'm not signing on to the early speculation.

As for Flores...  Heck yeah!!!  If I was KO'C and KA-M, I'd want Flores to be a big part of the decision process for who they sign and cut on defense.  They guy has shown he knows what he's talking about.   :happy1:

I agree Steve-o, I even read a couple pcs lately where they were trying to say the there was an issue between KO'C & the Wilfs too. Mainly because no deal got done before the start of this season. I didn't believe that either, it's more just some writers throwin some :bs: against the wall & seeing if it sticks IMO. With all the defensive FAs they signed last year you'd have a real hard time convincing me that they would even look at a player if Flores didn't think they would fit in with what he wanted to do.   :bonk:

And all of that is expecially important since...

Kirk Cousins compensatory pick likely to give Vikings another top-100 selection
As it stands now, the only picks the Vikings have in 2025 are the No. 24 selection in the first round and two picks in the fifth round

So the Vikes are REALLY counting on getting a 3rd round compensatory pick for Kapt. Kirk's departure.  AND...

(Depending on who's reporting...) The Vikes will have the 6th most cap space to spend during free agency.  So they will need to spend it wisely.  That's the good news.

The bad news is that the Bears, Lions, and Packers also round out the top 10 teams for cap space, so they'll be flush with cash as well.  The ol' Black 'n Blue division didn't do so well in the playoffs, but it will probably be a meat grinder of a division next season.

P.S.  But compare the Vikes Effective Capt Space to the Patriots, Raiders AND Commanders.  The Commanders have got to like their chances for next season and this one isn't even over yet.  It is a good time to be a Commanders fan.
