Things musta gone so well when they were following Kapt. Kirk and JJ around that they decided to run the thing back for a 3rd year with the whole team.  I think Ziggy likes the notion that he is responsible for a Class A NFL organization and likes to show it off.

Assuming they were filming this past season, it will be interesting to see how they handled Darnolds resurgence behind the scenes.  We should also get a look at how Flores conducts his business.

I think I'm looking forward to this more than the Pro Bowl Dodgeball game.

I did find the event last night.  Darnold was second to Goff in the passing thing.  He looked good.  What a difference in his life since he came here.  Has to be a real confidence booster to him.  I hope we give him another shot.  Watched the dodge ball and a running relay.  Was kind of a hoot.  Didn't watch it all.

Truth be told, I did get a kick out of watching the old "Superstars" show back in the day when the athletes competed in all those sorts of events:  obstacle course, bicycle-built-for-two race, kayak paddling, etc.  WAY before social media, you didn't often get to see the personalities of the athletes away from their sport.  So the new Pro Bowl weekend is just tapping into that.  Its good clean fun.

That's half of our team.   Remember way back I think they called it the Iron Man competitions?  Like early 70's.  One was NFL players against MLB players.  We thought the football players would kick azz.  Those darn MLB guys kicked azz instead.  I think they even won the tug of war.  Will never forget that shock.  I was maybe a Junior in High School.

This really funny to watch!!!  Look at the way the top athletes of those days competed.     Check out the dude lifting weights at 0:20 seconds.  There's guys at Planet Fitness that make that look easy every day of the week.     The dudes in the running and swimming look like they're going in slow motion.

Interesting... Hershel Walker won the Superstars in '87 and '88 and it was in '89 that The Vikings sold their souls* to the Cowboys to get him.    There was a lot of hype at the time about Hershel Walker being the greatest athlete at the time. 

*for a total of five players (linebacker Jesse Solomon, defensive back Issiac Holt, running back Darrin Nelson, linebacker David Howard, defensive end Alex Stewart) and six future draft picks. The five players were tied to potential draft picks Minnesota would give Dallas if a player was cut (which led to Emmitt Smith, Russell Maryland, Kevin Smith, and Darren Woodson). 
 

But, hey, I'm a jaded Vikings fan.  What else would you expect from me.  We never forget.

Seems like one of Hershel's first plays for us that he ran it in for a  TD.  May have been a kickoff.  We thought we had the world by the azz.   NOT   Then he said it was his eyes and all kinds of stuff.  Tried to off himself in the garage didn't he?  With the car running I think.  He was a basket case by the time we got him. We are still paying for it.

I knew we weren't 1 of the youngest teams in the league but I didn't know we were actually the oldest........ either.

I remember when Trader Rick took the helm (VP Player Personnel in 2006 and General Manager in 2012).  The Vikes were one of the oldest teams (if not THE oldest) in the league.  His first job was to get the team younger, and he got rid of a lot of aging veterans and not all fans were pleased when some of their favorites were moved out.  Its the way the league turns.

Ben Leber was on the radio this morning talking about how wild Jered was in high school, college, and at Kansas City.  Getting traded to Minnesota in 2008 was a wake up call for him and he did turn his life around and settle down.  Leber didn't tell any specific stories, so you have to let your imagination run wild.

Thing is, Leber said that Allen was the straw that stirred the drink of the Vikings defense that went to the NFC Championship game in 2009; a defense that included Pat Williams, Kevin Williams, Chad Greenway, E.J. Henderson, Antoine Winfield, Cedrick Griffin, and Tyrell Johnson.  To be a leader of those guys says something.  He said Jered kept it loose and fun for everyone and believed that was key to their success.

Personally, I don't care for a bunch of choreographed "celebration" moves, but he played with joy, and passion, and somehow with him...  it seemed a bit more genuine.

I have seen some talking heads saying the Vikes are trying to get Miles Garrett the tough DE from Cleveland.

  Too expensive IMO & they have too many holes to fill at S, CB, DT, OG. His cap hit the next 2 seasons is > $40 million.

They have to decide on Darnold b4 they do anything.  Sign.  Tag.  Tag and trade.  Let him go to free agency.

my thoughts........they sign Murphy....let Darnold go, he'll be to spendy. JJ gets the QB reigns with Danny Dimes and him fightin for the starting job.

I agree Glenn,  although i didn't think much of Gilmore at times.
