 I heard he's looking for a 3-year deal. The "legal tampering" period for free agents starts on Monday but they can't officially sign anything until Wednesday.

I have no idea what Pete was thinking. Geno is barely a serviable quarterback and Darnold is younger. I'm guessing the Raiders could have had Darnold (who at worse is Smith 2.0) for about the same money and he is younger. Or maybe Pete just doesn't like Darnold.

I wondered that too Dutch.  Geno is about used up.  I would take Darnold any day over Geno.

I don't know what the ceiling for Darnold is...I suspect he greatly benifitted from the system and weapons he had here. He can probably be a starting quarterback in the NFL but I don't think he'll ever be a star. His high point is middle of the pack with decent weapons around him in my opinion.

We will see, i've been wrong before.

Some seem to think they may still draft Deion's kid as they have pick #6 in Rd 1. Max Crosby's new $106.5mil/$91.5 mil guaranteed/ 3-year deal could have something to do with it too. They might think they need more than a QB to turn it around & maybe they aren't willing to tie up another $110-$120 mil needed to sign Darnold for 3 years. None of the details of Crosby's new deal have been released, so no one knows how it affects their cap space right now. They were #2 in cap space before they announced Wednesday that they would release Gardner Minshew before the start of the new league year on 3/12. The pc I read said they'll have $101.7 mil in cap space when Minshew's release becomes official. So, the thinking by most is that they'll be 1 of the biggest players in the FA market.

Question is.....will Daniel Jones use his free agency to go somewhere else. If he does.....Rogers is definitely a possibility.

If McCarthy doesn't make it, I would prefer Rogers over anyone else.

I prefer not spending $40 million for the diva Erin and all the disruption his dog & pony show brings to town. In addition the last thing McCarthy needs is Erin looking over his should spouting his BS.

I've been a Vikings fan since 1968.  Would hate to end it all due to Erin coming here.

I've been a fan since they drafted Fran Tarkenton in Rd 3 of the 1961 draft. Besides, I think KO'C & KA-M are way too smart to fall into that trap. :doah:  https://bleacherreport.com/articles/25168081-aaron-rodgers-rumors-vikings-dark-horse-land-qb-amid-giants-sam-darnold-buzz

I would never be a Cowpies fan. Doesn't matter what else happens. As far as I'm concerned.....Cowpies and Packers can have perfect seasons.....0-17

For what its worth... I seem to remember everyone feeling the same way about Favre til he won over the locker room and put up one of the best seasons of his career and took the Vikes to the NFC championship game.
