Daniel Jones could get them another comp pick next year too, unless they sign another player that counts against the comp guys they lost. The 1 for Darnold is projected to be a 3 Rd pick, the 1 for Jones would probably be a 4th Rd. The 2 D lineman they signed were both released by their former teams, so they don't count in the comp formula. The RB, Mason, was a trade with SF too.

Read a thing yesterday whilst in the big city about the Vikes possibly getting Will Levis from the Titans.  He won 3 games last year.  I don't want him even close to us.  He had such an attitude in the draft last year.  Thought he should have been taken high and got kind of pissy when it didn't happen.

I don't know why they would want Levis. He wouldn't fill the role of veteran quarterback. Maybe as a #3 but certainly not as the primary backup for McCarthy.

I would rather have Mullens than Levis.

I see your point although we know what Mullins is. Do we know what Levis is? I don't think the Vikings would go after him but coaching helped Darnold maybe it would help Levis.

Yep!  Crazy like a fox.  Man, I hope it ain't Rodgers.  But if it is...  and for as much as I'm goona hate it... I'm going to trust KA-M and KO'C seeming to go all-in this season (hopefully with the window remaining open next as well).

On paper, they seem to have added more talent via free agency than they lost and teams can never count on getting too many immediate impact players in the draft anyway.

Everything seems to hinge on McCarthy that a) he won't get happy feet, b) he'll be able to at least manage games and not turn the ball over, and 3) is strong enough to chuck the ball down field where only JJ and JA can go get it.  If KOC can teach him how to throw guys open, that will be icing on the cake.

I keep seeing snippets about trading Jordan Addison.  The latest I saw was to the Bills.  May be just click bait but that's how things start.

Would they / could they sign Addison to his contract wile they still have JJ and will eventually need to pay a QB?   Addison is the odd man out.  Sell high while he still has value.

Trouble is... this doesn't seem to be a rebuilding year for the Purple.  Rather... its an all-in year.  So if they deal Addison, it better be for players that can help them this season.

It's the off season for NFL writers. They have to dream up something to write about, create some buzz somehow. JJ is on a rookie contract for years yet, no need to clear Addison out for pay-roll space. Addison is a very good #2 receiver I see no reason to move him. Erin was last sighted at Saks Fifth Avenue being fitted for a new Black and Yellow skirt.

:tut: With the option year, Addison is still under team control through the 2027-2028 season, so he's not going anywhere IMO. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/82300/jordan-addison

Agreed, but I'm sure GMs are always open for opportunities if teams are willing to way overpay.  Make me an offer I can't refuse.  Till then, yes, JA ain't goin no where.

There is a plan if WR Jordan Addison is suspended
The Vikings don't know yet if the NFL will discipline Addison for a 2024 misdemeanor DUI citation, which is still working its way through the Los Angeles court system. But if he ends up being suspended, the Vikings expressed confidence in receiver Jalen Nailor as a worthy short-term replacement.

Nailor caught seven passes for 106 yards and three touchdowns last season when Addison missed two full games and part of a third because of an ankle injury. He went on to set career highs for receptions (28), yards (414) and touchdowns (six) while appearing in a career-high 17 games.

"I think we basically went through that last year with Jordan [missing games]," O'Connell said. "We essentially, for two and a half games, didn't have him, and we were able to beat the San Francisco 49ers and the Houston Texans with Jalen Nailor playing huge roles in those games."

Nailor, a sixth-round pick in 2022, could be in position for an early playing time boost to his 2026 free agent stock.

"I think this is a massive, massive year for his career," O'Connell said.
